Many China teachers were advocates for democracy during the 1989 Tiananmen protest. Most were ended up captured, put in jail, and executed by shooting. The protest made the CCP realise how education can affect political stability. The CCP would later rule China’s education system with an iron fist. Educational materials became a tool to unify students’ thinking to control the populace. Salaries of China teachers are artificially kept low, and libraries are scarce. The world does not need this type of education.

Education is all about providing a nurturing environment for the kids to grow up. Education is not about moulding students into what parents or schools deemed as model students. Instead, children should be allowed to grow up in their own ways as each has different inert talents.

Modern education places disproportionate emphasis on STEM subjects because these subjects tend to provide better careers in the working world. Arts and humanities are less popular as they set graduates up for less fulfilling lives. Education is now a tool for people to make a living. Education should not be about churning out societal slaves and mindless productive workers. A good education should produce people who love exploring and finding ways to contribute and improve the world. A successful education should make courageous proponents for world peace and humanitarianism.

In our current education system, exams and tests are used to grade students into various competency levels. Grade differentiation drives inequalities that will later manifest in society. The number of exams and tests should be set to a minimum, and scores must be kept private. Students should be allowed to make mistakes and to learn from their mistakes. A good education system will remove any social stratifications that exist in society.

In the information explosion age, classroom teaching should not be the primary learning mode for students. Students should be given diverse experiences to facilitate more effective and affective learning. For instance, a student learning a foreign language will be better served if given opportunities to interact with people fluent in that language.

Every student is unique and has different interests and needs. Blockchain helps a student to customise his/her academic learning according to his/her aptitudes. There is no need for fix location or timetable like the school we have been through. Because the student has full control over his/her education customisation, studying is no longer viewed as a chore but a fun and enjoyable process.

No teacher should impart any political indoctrination to his/her students. Instead, students should be left alone to develop his/her political views and beliefs.

G-EDU aims to set up an education system that encompasses all the above-mentioned qualities. G-EDU accepts students from all races, locations, and social stratifications. G-EDU is currently only in the concept phase, and much work is still needed to make it a reality.
