On the 5th of November, a 42-year-old man surnamed Qiu was found dead in his rented apartment in Taoyuan. It is reported that he took the BNT vaccine at the end of October, and on the 1st of November he told his landlord that he was not feeling well after vaccinated. It came into his mind when the landlord collected the rental, so he wanted to check how he was, but unexpectedly he saw the man lying on the bed without breathing and heartbeat when he opened the door. The landlord reported to the policeman immediately, and the causes of the man’s death is still to be determined by autopsy.

According to the United Daily News, the landlord met the man on the 1st, and the man was not in good condition and seemed to be very weak. The man said he had taken the BNT vaccine on the 26th of last month, presumably it was the vaccine that made him feel tired. A few days later, when the landlord was about to collect the rental from the Qiu’s place, he tried many times to contact him but couldn’t reach him. Remembering that he had said he wasn’t feeling well, the landlord took out the key to open the door and found Qiu lying on the bed, with no sign of life.

The police were called to the site and found the man face up with his limbs in a rigid state. There is no external force invaded the room and no suicide note was left. The man was not taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The family does not rule out that the cause of death is related to the vaccine, and the Taoyuan District Attorney’s Office has scheduled an autopsy next Monday to determine the exact cause of death.

A few days ago, a female student in Taoyuan was suspected of having myocarditis after took the BNT vaccine, which was so serious that she needed to be fitted with ECMO to survive, and even worse there was news that her leg might need to be amputated.

Chuang Ren-xiang, the spokesman of the pandemic command center, only responded in a low profile because the family did not want to talk too much. The command center could only tell everyone that “we have the situation under control”.

Whether the second dose will be suspended? Chuang Ren-xiang also said that this issue will be further discussed in the ACIP meeting, there will be an investigation about the second dose of BNT vaccine by the education unit, and the command center will also discuss with experts at the same time.
