Trump describes process of how he declassified documents found at Mar-a-Lago

Trump describes process of how he declassified documents found at Mar-a-Lago

Former president’s office says there was standing order that classified memos automatically declassified if moved to residence

By John Solomon

Donald Trump’s office told Just the News on Friday that the classified materials the FBI seized from his Mar-a-Lago estate were declassified under a “standing order” while he was president that allowed him to take sensitive materials to the White House residence at night to keep working.

The official statement is likely to become the focus of the president’s legal defense as the FBI and Biden Justice Department investigate whether he stole records covered under the Presidential Records Act or mishandled classified materials under the Espionage Act, allegations included in a search warrant released by a federal court in Florida on Friday.

The president’s defense is rooted in the legal principal that the president and vice president are the ultimate declassifying authority of the U.S. government and through executive orders most recently issued in 2003 by George W. Bush and Barack Obama in 2009 that specifically exempt the president and vice president from having to follow the stringent declassification procedures every other federal agency and official must follow.

Trump has maintained for weeks that any documents still containing classified markings in his possession after he left office were previously declassified. On Friday night, the statement issued to Just the News explained exactly how that declassification occurred in his mind.

The very fact that these documents were present at Mar-a-Lago means they couldn’t have been classified,” the former president’s office stated. “As we can all relate to, everyone ends up having to bring home their work from time to time. American presidents are no different. President Trump, in order to prepare for work the next day, often took documents including classified documents from the Oval Office to the residence.

“He had a standing order that documents removed from the Oval Office and taken into the residence were deemed to be declassified,” the statement added. “The power to classify and declassify documents rests solely with the President of the United States. The idea that some paper-pushing bureaucrat, with classification authority delegated BY THE PRESIDENT, needs to approve of declassification is absurd.”

Two former senior aides who worked for Trump in the latter half of his term said they were aware that Trump routinely took documents to the residence rather than return them to the Staff Secretary or the intelligence official who provided them. Asked whether there was a standing order, one former official “I don’t know anyone or anything that disputes that.”

Ordinarily, documents declassified by a president are later retrieved and marked declassified, usually by crossing a line through the prior classification markings. But former top aides to prior presidents acknowledged the president’s power to declassify was absolute and at times resulted in instant declassification decisions.

One prior administration official related an instance where his boss, while talking to a foreign leader, gave top-secret information to the leader, declassifying simply by sharing what he had seen in a top-secret marked document. Another official related an instance he witnessed in which a president, during a meeting, received a top secret document  and one official got up to leave because his clearance was only at the secret level.

“The president instantly approved that staffer to stay and consume the top-secret intelligence because it benefited the president’s work at that moment,” the person told Just the News.

The president’s detractors in Congress, the DOJ, and the intelligence community are likely to contest the president’s arguments. But officials familiar with national security law said courts generally have held the president’s power to declassify is far-reaching and that the process for how that happens can be more happenstance, something the Bush and Obama executive orders from 2003 and 2009 made clear.

Obama’s executive order no. 13526, issued in 2009, laid out the stringent process all federal officials and agencies needed to follow for declassification, but explicitly exempted the sitting president and vice president from having to follow those procedures.

“Information originated by the incumbent President or the incumbent Vice President; the incumbent President’s White House Staff or the incumbent Vice President’s Staff; committees, commissions, or boards appointed by the incumbent President; or other entities within the Executive Office of the President that solely advise and assist the incumbent President is exempted from the provisions of paragraph (a) of this section,” the Obama order stated.

Officials said it is likely the FBI will seek to find any officials or witnesses who knew or can confirm there was a “standing order” as described by the Trump statement. But in the end, officials said the president’s declassification powers were sweeping and likely would be viewed as such by the courts.

The ‘Classified Docs’ the FBI took from Mar-A-Lago were Already Declassified [Video]

The ‘Classified Docs’ the FBI took from Mar-A-Lago were Already Declassified

Trump Adviser Breaks the ‘Bad News’ to the FBI

Becker News

Former national security official Kash Patel broke the ‘bad news’ to the FBI: The ‘classified’ documents it seized from Mar-A-Lago were already declassified.

“So, there’s a distinction between national security and criminal cases,” Patel said in an interview on Fox News. “And in this instance, it seems to be from the public reporting and the Attorney General’s conduct that this is going on pursuant to a national security investigation, which takes it out of the criminal division and into the national security division where I used to work.”

“And the receipts that are now becoming publicly available show vague descriptions of things, because the government is likely going to come in and say some of this stuff is classified, but it doesn’t seem to be the case, when Donald Trump issued sweeping declassification orders on multiple occasions… as president, on multiple times,” Patel said. “So that’s going to be a distinction that we need to watch for, and it’s incumbent upon the government, the DOJ to tell us what happened.”

“Okay,” host Martha MacCallum responded. “So you just touched on something that I wanna dig into here with you, which is the declassification process and what your position was at the time, and whether or not you were involved, because we know there’s a procedure that has to take place. The president can’t just, you know, sort of wave over a bunch of boxes and say, ‘this is all declassified.’ Can you take us through the process where these documents were declassified by this president?”

“Yeah, so the normal process, and I was the deputy, you know, there’s multiple occasions, but I think I was serving as Deputy Director of National Intelligence,” Patel replied. “If we needed to declassify through the normal chain of command for lower level employees, we’d have to go through a rigorous process to do that procedurally. But the president of the United States, is and has always been, the ultimate unilateral classification authority to classify and declassify. If he says something is declassified, that’s it. Then it’s declassified.”

“He issued a strong statement in October of 2020 to classify all Russiagate and all Hillary Clinton documents. And that’s up on, you know, publicly available,” he added. “And then at the end of his administration, in December and January, he felt so much more information needed to be classified. He declassified whole sets of documents that should have come out. Now, the GSA has since come out, the Government Services Administration, said they mistakenly packed some boxes and moved them to Mar Lago.”

“That’s not on the president, that’s on the National Archives to sort that material out.,” he added. “They cannot prosecute him for intentionally, even if it was classified, which it’s highly unlikely that the issue, these sweeping orders,  like we went through with the Hillary Clinton saga, they’ll never, they’ll never meet the burden of intent ,because president didn’t pack it up and take it himself. ”

“The GSA has said they did it and they made a mistake,” he added. “And that should have been really the end of it. It should have been a cordial subpoena, where at most where they said, ‘okay, we just need this and we’ll get the rest back to you.’ I mean, President Obama and President Clinton still have classified materials in their possession in their home, but they have not released to this day per the National Archive.”

“So are you saying that these particular documents that were at Margo were all declassified in that December, January period of what year?” MacCallum asked.

“The end of 2020 and early 2021, before the president left, whole sets of documents were, I don’t know what, was shipped down there because I wasn’t the GSA people moving those documents, only they do,” he said. “They packed them. They admitted that they packed them, which is their job and transported them there and stored them somewhere.”

“So the GSA can provide a lot more clarity to us on how and what was moved,” Patel added. “And the GSA could have worked with the Department of Justice. That would’ve been my move as the national security prosecutor who brought terrorism cases all the time. This is an extreme national security measure taken for what seems to be a wholly unnecessary national security approach.”

All right,” MacCallum said. “So you’re saying the GSA packed these boxes, they’ve already admitted that they sent some of them there in error. Yeah. So then, when, in June, when they went in with the subpoena and they collected the boxes, apparently then, you know, according to one line of this story, somebody said, ‘no, there’s actually more here and you need to come back for what is here because it shouldn’t be here.’ Do you think that is what happened? Do you think? And, the Secret Service individual who was involved in that is one of the storylines that we’re pursuing.”

“Yeah, I don’t know who that individual is, but I think it was clear from President Trump’s statements that I believe he put out on Truth Social that he invited, whoever was there in June or whatever date we’re talking about to this, to look and have whatever they want and come back, and I’m paraphrasing to see whatever they needed,” he went on. “So if that was the case, which it seems to be because the DOJ has not controverted that statement, then they could have come back because there’s a voluntary cooperation. I don’t know. I don’t have any details that immediate reporting in terms of that incident.

“But again, it seems to be, you know, there’s a different way to treat people regarding classified information, if your name’s Hillary Clinton or James Comey versus if your name is Donald Trump,” he said. “And it’s just not the even handed way to do it. It’s not how we used to do it at the Department of Justice.”

“And for the attorney general to come in heavy handed last night and say, ‘I personally signed off on the warrant,’ that’s not the role of the attorney general to tell the American public that,” Patel continued. “We know that. The role of the attorney general is to tell us ‘why in this, in this case, was it so necessary?’”

“And they, you know, I get me to the point of this whole conversation about nuclear information,” Patel noted. “Okay. Let’s just say, that’s the case. They waited two years to go seize this information? Or, and, and if, if they get away with the two year mark, how about the warrant was issued on Friday? And they executed on Monday. So it was so sensitive, they took the weekend off. I, as a national security prosecutor, would get these warrants and execute them the next minute. And I think you’ll find every national security prosecutor will tell you the same.”

Kash Patel raises an excellent point. As Breitbart News exclusively reported about the FBI search warrant, the Feds waited days to execute its raid after the document was approved.

“The warrant that authorized the search of former President Donald Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago shows it was issued by U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart on Aug. 5, 2022, at 12:12 p.m.—nearly three full days before the Justice Department and FBI conducted a raid to execute it,” Breitbart reported.

However, it is being reported elsewhere that the Biden administration may have moved to ‘reclassify’ the documents that were shipped to Donald Trump when he left the White House. If that is the case, and drawing on what Kash Patel said about the GSA packing the ‘wrong documents,’ the entire FBI raid may be yet another set-up.

Abolish The FBI, Don’t Just Review & Reform It

Ron Paul Says Abolish the FBI, Don’t Just Review and Reform It

By: Adam Dick

After the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raid and seizure at Donald Trump’s home this week, there has been much talk, including from United States Congress members, about holding hearings concerning the FBI and implementing reforms of the FBI.

One former Congress member, though, says such actions do not go far enough. Ron Paul, who served in the House of Representatives as a Republican from Texas for over 20 years during which he twice sought the Republican presidential nomination, says that what is needed is the abolition of the FBI.

Paul makes the case for terminating the FBI at the beginning of a Thursday interview with host Jackson Hinkle at The Dive. Paul and Hinkle then discuss several other matters including US antagonism toward Russia and China, as well as the future of the US dollar.

No, Trump Did Not Commit Actionable Treason Or Espionage

No, Trump didn’t commit actionable treason or espionage

By: Andrea Widburg

The headlines are damning: Trump had national security documents or classified documents or nuclear secret documents in his possession, a clear criminal violation. One former CIA head even put out a tweet effectively saying that Trump should be executed for treason. Everyone who believes Trump committed a criminal act is wrong. These claims completely misunderstand the nature of Trump’s (indeed of every president’s) plenary power and how it plays out with respect to documents and classified information.

The left is ecstatic. The Washington Post hollered, “Trump warrant papers list 11 sets of classified documents seized.” The Atlantic assured readers that “Not Even the President Can Declassify Nuclear Secrets: Fan letters and snapshots are one matter, and launch codes are another—and here the details of classification might decide just how much trouble Trump is in.”

Michael Hayden, who served in the Air Force, and then went on to a career as a high-level government functionary—former Director of the National Security Agency, Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Director of the Central Intelligence Agency—approvingly retweeted “historian” Michael Beschloss’s explicit suggestion that Trump should be executed:

That tweet establishes that brains and an understanding of our constitutional system are not a prerequisite for being either a government hack or a leftist historian.

The Democrat line is clear: Trump had classified national security documents in his possession, which is a criminal act, so he needs to be prosecuted and, preferably, executed. In fact, it is impossible for a president to mismanage classified or national security documents. Indeed, even if Biden reclassified the information, Trump still did not commit a crime. Everything the Democrats believe is dead wrong.

The President of the United States has plenary power over national security issues, including document classification. That means that, under the Constitution, as to national security, the president has complete and unlimited power. He is the king of the national security world, and no one can gainsay him, whether the bureaucrats who work for him, Congress, or the Supreme Court.

Democrats, however, are pushing back against this reality. The best example I’ve found comes from Graeme Wood, an African-American studies and philosophy major, who authored the above-mentioned Atlantic article (which is currently The Atlantic’s “most popular” article).

Wood reluctantly concedes some of the president’s unlimited power. He quotes J. William Leonard, former head of the Information Security Oversight Office, who said that “the rules and procedures governing the classification and declassification of information apply to everyone else [other than the president].” Wood continues, saying, “[The president] would not have had to file paperwork—just ‘utter the magic words,’ Leonard told me.” In other words, Wood acknowledges that Trump, while president, by packing up and taking documents with him automatically declassified them.

Wood accurately notes that Biden could have reclassified the documents. There’s no evidence, though, that he did so. In addition, even had Biden done so, that would not convert Trump into a criminal. The Constitution is extremely hostile to after-the-fact (i.e, ex post facto) criminalization of acts that were legal when taken. (Art 1, §§9 and 10.) Britain’s habit of doing that was one of the main reasons behind the American Revolution.

Wood’s core argument against Trump is that a president’s plenary power does not extend to nuclear secrets. The reason, Wood says, is that the Atomic Energy Acts of 1946 and 1954, produced a super-category of classification revolving are anything nuclear, one that overrides even the president. That’s untrue.

Congress cannot override the president’s plenary power. Presidents can voluntarily respect a national security law, but they do not have to abide by it. Again, plenary power means, as Wikipedia summarizes, “a power that has been granted to a body or person in absolute terms, with no review of or limitations upon the exercise of that power.”Wood cites Navy v. Egan, 484 U.S. 518 (1988) to argue that nuclear secrets override the president’s power. He contends that “The 1988 Supreme Court case Navy v. Egan confirmed that classification authority flows from the president except in specific instances separated from his powers by law.” Wrong again.

The Egan decision examines only whether a civil service board can review a “laborer’s” being denied national security clearance. In that context, the Supreme Court was clear about the president’s plenary power, unimpeded by congressional acts:

The President, after all, is the “Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States.” U.S.Const., Art. II, § 2. His authority to classify and control access to information bearing on national security and to determine whether an individual is sufficiently trustworthy to occupy a position in the Executive Branch that will give that person access to such information flows primarily from this constitutional investment of power in the President, and exists quite apart from any explicit congressional grant. See Cafeteria Workers v. McElroy, 367 U. S. 886, 367 U. S. 890 (1961).

In sum, the only proof you need that Trump declassified the documents is the fact that, when he was still president, Trump treated them as declassified. Biden cannot criminalize Trump’s actions by later re-classifying the documents (and there’s no evidence that he did). And of course, if there were nuclear codes, they are changed regularly and would certainly be changed from one administration to the next, meaning that any information Trump has is as useful as the cartoon in an old Bazooka bubble gum wrapper.

So… When will Biden Voters Get Angry?

When are Biden Voters Going to Get Angry?

By: Jeff M. Lewis

This is not what any of us were promised. Some of us never believed their promises anyway.

The current state of America’s economy, individual freedom and prosperity, and our global reputation are far worse than they were 19 months ago. America has been weakened, our enemies have taken notice, and the world is far less safe.

The media cabal —Time actually ran a piece titled, “The Secret Bipartisan Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election” — that conspired to install the current occupant of the White House promised much, much more. According to them, the Trump administration had damaged America beyond all measure, and only a man of Joseph R. Biden’s sterling credentials and government experience could hope to restore America to the right path. Their collective assertions were that only Joe Biden could correct what they viewed as the horrible electoral miscarriage that was Donald J. Trump.

We must all take a close look at the abuse we have suffered at the hands of the leftist Democrat Party, and their never-ending litany of lies trying to cover their failures. What I want to know is, after 19 months of predictable results for their failed policies, when are Biden voters going to get angry?

I do not blame them for thinking, “Things can only get better now,” after bad actors deposed President Trump, and Sleepy, basement-dwelling Joe ascended to the Oval Office. The abuse the Democrat faithful endured during the Trump presidency was relentless: every hoax imaginable about Russia, every night a lying, conspiratorial, gaslighting grift of “evidence will show,” and all manners of character assassination. By January 2020, we were all worn out from the non-stop barrage of bad news, while the narrative they crafted ignored or falsified the rays of hope.

However, what Biden voters were sold has not been delivered — Biden has not governed as the refreshingly wonderfully moderate he was made out to be. Instead, he and the Democrat Party are beholden to radical leftists. One could say Ol’ Joe was over-sold, and whoever is behind the scenes and administering the abuse has under-performed (or, some might say, performed exactly as intended), resulting in complete destruction.

Biden voters are rarely heard now. Some apologists are mainstays on the liberal, corrupt, corporate state-controlled media stage, but new data is revealing that hardly anyone wants Joe to run again.  A CNN poll found that about 75% of Democrat voters would prefer another candidate in the 2024 presidential election. Well, well, well, welcome to the party….

The long list of failures and abuses are evident and continue daily: an open border across which there is the unchecked flow of both illegal immigrants and deadly narcotics, out of control crime and a never-before-seen degradation of America’s most beautiful cities; the decimation of the U.S. petroleum industry, resulting in high gas prices, and loss of energy independence all for the sake of a pipe-dream Green New Deal; unusually low workforce participation which has crippled the supply chain and all manner of services; the humiliating and deadly withdrawal from Afghanistan; the weakening of the Armed Forces by requiring experimental vaccines and the purge of any who have valid questions or objections; a federal law enforcement and investigative department that understands only the power of the state and ignores the constitutional rights of the citizenry with the unconstitutional imprisonment of political opposition, while clearly illegal behavior of any favored allies goes uninvestigated and unpunished…. And many, many more usurpations and offenses to the Constitutional rule of law and violation of their Oath of Office.

What is happening to every American is abuse, pure and simple. Here is a definition of abuse I saw a few months ago, and I wrote it down because it seemed to me to be exceedingly prescient in our current national and globalist-directed calamity:

Abuse is about power and control. If one leaves an abuser, their need for control does not diminish or disappear. As the abuser loses control, they will not accept this loss but will use other means to regain control. This extends to the systems one uses for correction, protection, and support. (Source unattributable)

One need only consider the great and relentless outcry from media elites, celebrities, politicians, and the deep state to use every weapon at their disposal against us. Those of us who legally and constitutionally elected Donald J. Trump did so in an attempt to throw off the shackles of government overreach and tyranny. It was also our unshakeable belief that Hillary should never have Commander-in-Chief access to the levers of power she so desperately desired and sought. We wanted to leave the abuser — the D.C. Swamp, the corrupt media, and the deep state. On November 8, 2016, the American people sent a clear message to our abusive overlords.

Consistent with an abuser’s behavior, they sought to teach us a stern lesson. The morning of November 9, 2016, the evil empire struck back and has never let up. They concocted their lies: Russia collusion, the Mueller investigation, and the impeachment sham. It was all meant to undo the results of the 2016 election, and all because We the People, the American electorate, had the nerve to tell our abuser, “NO! Enough! Stop!”

What could not be accomplished from November 2016 to January 2020, the pandemic enabled the Swamp to complete. They were in full cover mode, enabling the Biden campaign to tell bold-face lies, with a complicit media engaged in censorship to alter the outcome of the election.

The Democrat Party’s pattern of abuse has intensified with the installation of their preferred figurehead.

And slowly — much too slowly — the façade is peeling back on the deep state, while those who are known to be responsible for the Russia Collusion Hoax have evaded accountability. Remarkably, the Left no longer attempts to hide their intentions, but instead, they openly declare what they would never have admitted B.T. (before Trump). Yet one thing is certain — they will deny responsibility for every failure, and every problem they worsen or create anew.

As one friend of mine observed the other day, “I’m not mad about the mess they have made. Hopefully everyone can clearly see how bad everything is and learn a lesson about voting for Democrats.”

One can only hope. Too many of the Democrats who voted for Biden are either silent or persist in their Biden apologetics. It is neither honorable, nor is it rational, reasoned, or logical. Compared to the irrational, unreasonable, and illogical screeching about all things Trump for five years — most of which was based on bold-faced lies — it is intellectually dishonest as well.

When are these Democrat voters going to recognize their abuse, and divorce the lies they have been told? When, and what will it take, to hold the Doomsday regime to account for what is happening in America? When are these Biden voters going to demand an end to the abuse by those who deign themselves to be our minders and our betters?

There is more than sufficient evidence and many good reasons to join the rest of us in rejecting this abuse.

Repression, Terror & Fear: Government Wants to Silence Opposition

Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear.” — President Harry S. Truman

Militarized police. Riot squads. Camouflage gear. Black uniforms. Armored vehicles. Mass arrests. Pepper spray. Tear gas. Batons. Strip searches. Surveillance cameras. Kevlar vests. Drones. Lethal weapons. Less-than-lethal weapons unleashed with deadly force. Rubber bullets. Water cannons. Stun grenades. Arrests of journalists. Crowd control tactics. Intimidation tactics. Brutality. Lockdowns.

This is not the language of freedom. This is not even the language of law and order.

This is the language of force.

This is how the government at all levels—federal, state and local—now responds to those who speak out against government corruption, misconduct and abuse.

These overreaching, heavy-handed lessons in how to rule by force have become standard operating procedure for a government that communicates with its citizenry primarily through the language of brutality, intimidation and fear.

We didn’t know it then, but what happened five years ago in Charlottesville, Va., was a foretaste of what was to come.

At the time, Charlottesville was at the center of a growing struggle over how to reconcile the right to think and speak freely, especially about controversial ideas, with the push to sanitize the environment of anything—words and images—that might cause offense. That fear of offense prompted the Charlottesville City Council to get rid of a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee that had graced one of its public parks for 82 years.

In attempting to err on the side of political correctness by placating one group while muzzling critics of the city’s actions, Charlottesville attracted the unwanted attention of the Ku Klux Klan, neo-Nazis and the alt-Right, all of whom descended on the little college town with the intention of exercising their First Amendment right to be disagreeable, to assemble, and to protest.

That’s when everything went haywire.

When put to the test, Charlottesville did not handle things well at all.

On August 12, 2017, government officials took what should have been a legitimate exercise in constitutional principles (free speech, assembly and protest) and turned it into a lesson in authoritarianism by manipulating warring factions and engineering events in such a way as to foment unrest, lockdown the city, and justify further power grabs.

On the day of scheduled protests, police deliberately engineered a situation in which two opposing camps of protesters would confront each other, tensions would bubble over, and things would turn just violent enough to justify allowing the government to shut everything down.

This is not much different from what is happening on the present-day national scene.

Indeed, there’s a pattern emerging if you pay close enough attention.

Civil discontent leads to civil unrest, which leads to protests and counterprotests. Tensions rise, violence escalates, police stand down, and federal armies move in. Meanwhile, despite the protests and the outrage, the government’s abuses continue unabated.

It’s all part of an elaborate setup by the architects of the police state. The government wants a reason to crack down and lock down and bring in its biggest guns.

They want us divided. They want us to turn on one another.

They want us powerless in the face of their artillery and armed forces.

They want us silent, servile and compliant.

They certainly do not want us to remember that we have rights, let alone attempting to exercise those rights peaceably and lawfully, whether it’s protesting politically correct efforts to whitewash the past, challenging COVID-19 mandates, questioning election outcomes, or listening to alternate viewpoints—even conspiratorial ones—in order to form our own opinions about the true nature of government.

And they definitely do not want us to engage in First Amendment activities that challenge the government’s power, reveal the government’s corruption, expose the government’s lies, and encourage the citizenry to push back against the government’s many injustices.

Why else do you think Wikileaks founder Julian Assange continues to molder in jail for daring to blow the whistle about the U.S. government’s war crimes, while government officials who rape, plunder and kill walk away with little more than a slap on the wrist?

This is how it begins.

We are moving fast down that slippery slope to an authoritarian society in which the only opinions, ideas and speech expressed are the ones permitted by the government and its corporate cohorts.

Watch and see: we are all about to become enemies of the state.

As I make clear in my book Battlefield America: The War on the American People and in its fictional counterpart The Erik Blair Diaries, anytime you have a government that operates in the shadows, speaks in a language of force, and rules by fiat, you’d better beware.

So what’s the answer?

For starters, we need to remember that we’ve all got rights, and we need to exercise them.

Most of all, we need to protect the rights of the people to speak truth to power, whatever that truth might be. Either “we the people” believe in free speech or we don’t.

Fifty years ago, Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas asked:

Since when have we Americans been expected to bow submissively to authority and speak with awe and reverence to those who represent us? The constitutional theory is that we the people are the sovereigns, the state and federal officials only our agents. We who have the final word can speak softly or angrily. We can seek to challenge and annoy, as we need not stay docile and quiet… [A]t the constitutional level, speech need not be a sedative; it can be disruptive… [A] function of free speech under our system of government is to invite dispute. It may indeed best serve its high purpose when it induces a condition of unrest, creates dissatisfaction with conditions as they are, or even stirs people to anger.”

In other words, the Constitution does not require Americans to be servile or even civil to government officials. Neither does the Constitution require obedience (although it does insist on nonviolence).

Somehow, the government keeps overlooking this important element in the equation.

KEN’S CORNER: Why I Will Fight To The Death

KEN’S CORNER: Why I Will Fight To The Death

Presented by TLB Contributing Author: Ken LaRive

It had started to rain, as I remember, and we were all trapped inside. I was sitting on my sofa taking a break from playing with stuffed animals and dress-up, reading my newspaper. From the side of my eye I saw a little dimpled hand reach out and touch my forehead. “Why are you frowning Pops? What’s wrong?”

I looked up to see her blue eyes squinting at me with four-year-old concern… And with a flash of wonder realized that her tiny fingers had touched my frown, and so I immediately gave her a big smile.

“Oh, it’s nothing darling!” I said. “Pops is just trying to study his newspaper. I’m trying to learn what it says.” And to me, this seemed to console her, as she gave me a big smile too. She turned and again sat down on the carpet with her big brother to play Legos… but turned to look at me again, and with something like an afterthought she said: “You’re learning about sad things Pops?”

But she didn’t want an answer for that. All she wanted was to build a red wall with her Lego set, and hoped that I would sit with them and help. And as I searched the shoe box for another red cube to snap together, I felt a rush of fear sweep through me, a chill to the very bone, and I struggled with everything I had to hide it. I saw their world unfolding, and mine unraveling, and I thought of the possibility that no matter how much I tried, I could not stop it. It was too big. A new world was being created on the ashes of the old, a dismantling of the country I thought my own.

I saw them in debt, a debt that could never be paid. I saw that they would never have a moment of complete solitude, or privacy, or liberty, or ever know truth. I saw that they would be slaves to a system that would attempt to project itself in their minds as an original thought, with a scientifically propagandized methodology long proven to coerce and control. I saw God displaced by technology without bounds, science without ethics, and a collective ego without imagination, or free expression. I saw a system designed to manage their thoughts, attempting to intimately own their very souls. And I saw, from my own eyes, bleary with tears held in check, and a lump in my throat from dread, that I was the only thing standing in the way. Me, Pops.

As I look back over my life, and what by the grace of God I have created, I find myself responsible for this world. Just as I have taken responsibility for my own action, so too do I take responsibility for my inaction. I should have stood up long ago. I should have studied more, tried harder, and got involved. And from deep inside of my heart, from a place that holds all of the dusty regrets shelved and tightly sealed, to keep my sanity, I can only say, I’m so very sorry. I’m so sorry my little ones. And I know that most likely by the time you realize this world for what it is, I’ll be long gone.

I hope you live in a world of enlightenment, illuminated by truth, and your hearts are full of love and joy. If you have found this around you, I could rest easy in eternity, because I know by my study that the liberty that creates this is not free, and that someone bled to give it to you. So know this, I love you more than anything in this world, and I’ll keep trying until my dying day, just as I know you will for your own grand kids, by the grace of God.

Pops

Ken LaRive

From the Author, Ken La Rive – We in the Liberty movement have been fighting to take back this country for less than a decade, peacefully and with the love of God and country in our hearts. Our banner has been trampled on and displaced by a multitude of distractions, further eroding our nation and the cause for Liberty. And so, as we are pulled by forces we cannot fathom, powerful entities with unlimited resources stolen from our future, unaccountable trillions printed out of thin air and put on our backs as debt, we must formulate the most pitiful of all questions any patriot might ask in the final hour: Are we going to fight for our master’s tyranny, or are we going to demand the return of our civil liberties and Constitution? Are we going to choose The Banner of Liberty, or the shackles of voluntary servitude? Will it be a war for corporate profit, or a war to regain our ability to self govern, as the blood and toil of our forefathers presented to us, their children, as a gift? I fear that decision is emanate. I fear that any decision will be a hard one, but my greatest fear of all is that the decision has already been made for us.

Trump Refuses To Answer NY AG’s Questions At Deposition [Video]

Trump Refuses To Answer NY AG’s Questions At Deposition

ZH

Former President Trump on Wednesday announced that he would not be answering questions in his court-ordered deposition in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ three-year probe of his organization.

After arriving just before 9 a.m. at the AG’s NYC headquarters, Trump released a statement which reads in part: “accordingly, under the advice of my counsel and for all of the above reasons, I declined to answer the questions under the rights and privileges afforded to every citizen under the United States Constitution.

“I did nothing wrong, which is why, after five years of looking, the Federal, State and local governments, together with the Fake News Media, have found nothing,” the statement continues. “We cannot permit a renegade and out-of-control prosecutor to use this investigation as a means of advancing her political career.”

I once asked, ‘If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?” Now I know the answer to that question,” the statement continues.

Shortly before Trump’s deposition, he posted this to Rumble:

James had insisted that Trump be deposed in person, Insider reports, after her office issued its original subpoena in December while investigating whether the Trump Organization misstated the value of various properties on financial documents – which James alleges were then used to obtain tax breaks and bank loans.

James’ office is considering whether to file a civil suit against Trump, claiming in court filings that they have “uncovered substantial evidence establishing numerous misrepresentations” regarding Trump’s financial statements to banks, insurers and the IRS.

Trump’s legal team fought the December subpoena for more than six months – losing in both the State Supreme Court and in a Manhattan appeals court – after which the Trumps (Trump, Trump Jr., and Ivanka Trump) agreed to sit for depositions – which were delayed by the death of Ivanna Trump on July 14. Both Trump Jr. and Ivanka sat for depositions last week.

Trump’s refusal comes two days after the FBI raided his Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida – reportedly to find boxes of materials that the former president may have removed from the White House upon leaving office.

Trump’s statement can be read below:

Trump slate sweeps Top Arizona Primary Races

Trump slate sweeps Top Arizona Primary Races

Kari Lake wins Arizona GOP governor primary and is expected to face off against Katie Hobbs, who is currently Arizona’s Secretary of State

The Arizona GOP governor primary on Thursday evening was called for candidate Kari Lake, giving former President Donald Trump a clean sweep in the state in Tuesday night’s primaries.

She is expected to face off against Katie Hobbs, who is currently Arizona’s Secretary of State, to replace Republican Gov. Doug Ducey.

The Associated Press projected Lake as the winner with about 88.3% of the ballots counted. Lake came in with 46.8% of the vote. Lawyer Karrin Taylor Robson came in second to Lake with 44.0%.

Her victory is also a showdown between former President Trump and former Vice President Pence, the latter of whom endorsed Taylor Robson.

Lake celebrated her victory late Tuesday evening after a source told El American that she is the projected primary winner.

Lake, a former television news journalist, is known for her tough stance on the southern border.

“Kari will make her wonderful family, and the MAGA movement, very proud,” Trump said when he endorsed her.

Lake’s victory marked a perfect record for Trump-endorsed Republicans in the state’s major primary races. Venture capitalist Blake Masters claimed the party’s senatorial nomination while Mark Finchem won the secretary of state primary, and Abe Hamadeh won the attorney general primary contest.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban Rocks CPAC Texas [Video]

 Orban Rocks CPAC Texas

“Less Drag Queens, More Chuck Norris”

BY TYLER DURDEN

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who has fiercely defended his country’s borders, language and culture, gave a 30-minute speech to a crowd of thousands of American admirers in Dallas on Thursday at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

He painted a picture of America and Hungary facing twin fronts in a struggle against liberalism, globalists, communists, and “fake news.”

[embedded content]

[embedded content]

“The West is at war with itself,” he said, adding “The globalist can all go to hell. I have come to Texas.”

I can already see tomorrow’s headlines: Far-right European racist, anti-Semite strongman — the Trojan horse of Putin — holds speech at the conservative conference,” he said, to applause and laughter. “They did not want me to be here, and they made every effort to drive a wedge between us. They hate me and slander me and my country as they hate you and slander you,” Orban continued.

Orban also railed against illegal migration, saying “To stop illegal immigration, we have actually built that wall,” adding that his government was able to “reduce illegal migration to zero.”

[embedded content]

[embedded content]

Then, Orban discussed the importance of family and rejecting gender ideology, saying we need to “build a wall around our children” to protect against people who are targeting them.

To sum up, the mother is a woman, the father is a man – and leave our kids alone. Full stop, end of discussion!

[embedded content]

[embedded content]

He then said we need “less drag queens and more Chuck Norris,” to loud applause.

[embedded content]

[embedded content]

“These two locations will define the two fronts in the battle being fought for Western civilization,” he said, adding “Today we hold neither of them yet. We need both. You have two years to get ready.”
