Exclusive Footage: Migrant Bus of Mostly Single Adult Men, Sent by Texas Gov. Abbott, Arrives in New York City

NEW YORK CITY — A bus filled with mostly single adult male migrants arrived at Port Authority in New York City from Texas Friday morning — where they were greeted by volunteers handing out burritos — as Gov. Greg Abbott (R) continues dispersing record-breaking numbers of border crossers and illegal aliens arriving in his state to Democrat-run “sanctuary cities.”

New York City officials appeared to be unprepared for the migrants’ arrival, or at least lacked communication and coordination to receive them, as Port Authority did not initially have a gate for the bus to park, and Port Authority employees were not aware of the plan for arrival. The bus circled between 8th and 9th avenues Friday morning until it was finally able to park at Gate 14 at approximately 7:30 a.m.

“Because of President Biden’s continued refusal to acknowledge the crisis caused by his open border policies, the State of Texas has had to take unprecedented action to keep our communities safe,” Gov. Abbott said in a statement.

“In addition to Washington, D.C., New York City is the ideal destination for these migrants, who can receive the abundance of city services and housing that Mayor Eric Adams has boasted about within the sanctuary city,” Abbott said. “I hope he follows through on his promise of welcoming all migrants with open arms so that our overrun and overwhelmed border towns can find relief.”

When the bus arrived, Breitbart News witnessed passengers disembarking after a 3-day journey from Texas, greeted by a handful of volunteers. One volunteer was wearing a “NYC immigration services” t-shirt, but there did not appear to be any city employees present.

The greeters handed migrants a bag bearing the logo of the humanitarian aid organization “Save the Children”; however, there appeared to be fewer than 10 children among the group, and no more than 5 women. The rest of the 60-some passengers on the bus were single males between the ages of 20 to 40 years old.

The volunteers led the group through Port Authority, corralled them into the entrance of the bus station and handed out burritos. Some migrants were provided rides to other locations, but it was unclear where.

One migrant, a man who said his name is Alfonzo and who arrived alone, told Breitbart News he traveled from Venezuela through Mexico into Texas, where he was put directly on the bus to New York City.

He left his wife and children in Chile and explained that he came alone to America first and planned to bring them later. He does not have any family or connections in the United States and does not speak English. He came with one bag containing some toiletries and a pillow, and had 130 U.S. dollars.

Alfonzo told Breitbart News that now was a good “opportunity” to come to the United States, explaining that he did not believe he would be admitted under former President Trump’s administration, specifically mentioning that the wall along the southern border was an obstacle to entry. He said locals in Mexico accepted money to direct him toward the border.

Alfonzo said he was looking for work, but had never been to New York City or the United States. He did not have a place to stay and was not informed of any lodging services or resources.

Despite Democrat officials’ support for illegal immigration through their expansive sanctuary city policies, which shield illegal aliens from arrest and deportation from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a handful have warned that the migrant buses from Texas will overwhelm their city’s public resources.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D), for instance, has pleaded with Biden for “additional federal resources immediately” to deal with the illegal immigration surge. In another statement, Adams told New Yorkers to get “on board” with having their city overrun with border crossers and illegal aliens arriving and straining infrastructure, hospitals, schools, and neighborhoods.

“Everyone’s block is going to be impacted by this,” Adams said. “And so we have to add our advocacy with our ability to help our neighbors. We need everyone on board with this.”

“… our schools are going to be impacted, our healthcare system is going to be impacted, our infrastructure is going to be impacted,” he continued.

Adams’ office claims the migrant buses’ being sent to New York City is akin to using border crossers and illegal aliens “as political pawns,” calling the policy “disgusting.”

Gov. Abbott has issued a public invitation to Mayor Adams to visit the southern border, insisting the “sanctuary city” mayor witness “the magnitude of chaos created by Biden’s open-border policies.”

“I really wish they would [visit] because public officials across the country, they do need to realize the magnitude of the chaos created by Biden’s open-border policies,” Abbott said on Fox News Thursday.

“They’re up in arms about a few thousand people coming into their communities over the past few months? Listen, in any one sector in the state of Texas, we have more than 5,000 people coming across in that sector every single day,” Abbott continued.

Similarly, Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser requested National Guard troops last month to deal with what she called a “humanitarian crisis” of just over 6,000 migrants being bused to the capital from Texas since April.

Bowser, a staunch supporter of the region’s sanctuary city policy, claimed the migrant buses were a “tipping point” for Washington, DC, even as they pale in comparison to the level of illegal immigration that American border towns are forced to deal with under the Biden administration.

In Texas border towns alone, nearly 130,000 border crossers and illegal aliens were caught crossing the border in June. Most recently, in the small town of Normandy, Texas — with a population of just 29 residents — about 400 border crossers and illegal aliens crossed into the area this month.

New York City Declares Public Health Emergency over Monkeypox

New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) declared monkeypox a public health emergency on Monday following Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) declaring a state of emergency last week, as the mayor claimed the outbreak “continues to grow” in the city.

“As the monkeypox outbreak continues to grow in New York City and across the country, I am today issuing an emergency executive order declaring a local state of emergency,” Adams said in a Monday statement, explaining that the city now has over 1,200 cases, comprising “approximately 25 percent of cases nationally.”

Numbers, he added, are continuing to rise.

“This order will bolster our existing efforts to educate, vaccinate, test, and treat as many New Yorkers as possible and ensure a whole-of-government response to this outbreak. In partnership with federal, state, and local officials we will continue to respond with the urgency required to keep people safe, and this order is another tool to help us do so,” he said.

His announcement follows action taken by Gov. Hochul on Friday, declaring a State Disaster Emergency over monkeypox.

“This Executive Order enables us to respond more swiftly, and allows health care professionals to take additional steps that will help get more New Yorkers vaccinated,” Hochul said, adding that “more than one in four monkeypox cases in this country are in New York, currently having a disproportionate impact on at-risk groups.”

“We are working around the clock to secure more vaccines, expand testing capacity, and educate New Yorkers on how to stay safe,” she added:

New York State Health Commissioner Dr. Mary Bassett said most of the cases are spreading through sexual contact — primarily among men who have sex with other men.

“With more than one-quarter of all cases in the U.S., New Yorkers, and especially our LGBTQ+ community, remain among the hardest-hit,” Hochul said in a statement.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. has 5,189 confirmed cases of the illness, the most of which are in New York and California. Similarly, the City of San Francisco declared a public health emergency over the monkeypox outbreak as well.

A recent Annenberg Public Policy Center survey found that the vast majority of Americans, 81 percent, are “not too worried” or “not at all worried” about catching monkeypox, but a result of the rise in cases, the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is urging gay men to reduce their number of sexual partners.

Big Brother Is Watching: Report Says NYC Considering Subway Gun Detectors

Deploying high-tech scanners to spot someone carrying a gun into New York City’s subway system before they have a chance to use it is an option under increasing consideration by Mayor Eric Adams (D), a report Wednesday details.

AP outlines the argument in favor of random weapon checks has returned in the aftermath of a mass shooting on a New York City subway train.

Security experts counsel installing such a system in the city’s subway system has distinct challenges but is not impossible.

The fact scanners need to be accompanied by human operators to confront people carrying firearms illegally is the main problem rather than the availability of the technology.

If approved they will help stem one aspect of the violence that is increasingly coming to define the porous mass transit system.

“Logistically, it would be a nightmare. You’re going to have to tie up a lot of officers doing this,” James Dooley, a retired New York Police Department captain who served in the department’s transit division, told AP “We have hundreds of stations, and the fact of the matter is that putting someone at every entrance to every station is logistically impossible.”

Adams, a former police captain, has acknowledged the challenges but has said the system might still be worth trying at select locations as a deterrent, the AP report continues.

“We want to be able to just pop up at a station someplace so people don’t know it’s there,” the Democrat said, “similar to what we do when we do car checkpoints.”

The push for better subway security got renewed urgency in April after a gunman set off smoke bombs and sprayed a subway compartment with shots, wounding 10 people, as Breitbart News reported.

Then, on May 22, another gunman killed a passenger in what authorities said appeared to be a random attack.

A day after that killing, Adams again expressed interest in weapon-screening technology. And soon, mass shootings in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde, Texas, intensified the debate over how to address gun violence, Politco reports.

“We have identified several new technologies that are not like metal detectors that are used at airports, where you have to empty your pockets and go through a long line to get in,” Adams said on WNYC radio in one of 10 interviews he gave the morning after that attack.

“You just walk normally through the system. It is not even detectable that the devices are there. And we think there is some great promise in this technology, and we are going to continue to explore that.”

In the New York City subway, the screening wouldn’t resemble airport checkpoints, an untenable solution for a system with 472 stations, all with multiple entrances.

Instead, Adams pointed to technology that uses sensors to detect metal but also can determine the shape of an object, such as a gun, while people pass by uninterrupted.

The state-run Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), not the mayor, controls the subway system. But Politico points out Adams would consult MTA officials about trying out new technology.

Even before the subway shooting, Adams said he sent his deputy mayor for public safety, Phil Banks, to travel the globe studying public safety technology. The mayor has also embraced the use of controversial facial recognition tools.

The move came as more people leave the city forever over crime rates – above ground as well as below.

“There are new models that are being used at …. ballparks, hospitals,” Adams said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

“We believe we have a technology that we can use in the subway system that many passengers are not even going to be aware that they are walking past a device that could detect weapons and we are excited about the possibilities and I’m not going to leave any legal technology off the table when it comes down to keeping New Yorkers safe.”

Adams said he did not have one specific security system in mind and would be open to various technologies.

COVID Hypocrisy alive and well as NYC Mayor exempts pro athletes, performers from vax mandate

While mask mandates and vaccine requirements are constantly changing, one thing remains the same: hypocrisy. On Thursday, New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced he was ending the employer vaccine mandate… only for the elite world of professional athletes and performers.

“Today I signed an emergency executive order expanding the performance exemption to the private employer vaccine mandate” said Adams in a press conference.

Not long ago, New York City residents were not allowed to go to the gym and were refused service by any public place without showing a vaccination card. Not long ago, our country’s most valued frontline workers and military men and women in uniform were fired from their jobs, their livelihoods completely shattered because they remained unvaccinated.

But not to worry, Adams assured the people his decision was not made “loosely or haphazardly.” That must make the nurses, cops and teachers who can’t pay their rent feel much better.

Nope; then comes the biggest slap in the face of all. “We’re making it because this city has to function” said Adams. And that right there is the liberal mindset. Millionaires playing with leather balls is more valuable to society and its continued function than literally anyone else.

Adams continued, saying the definition of healthy should not just mean “only physically healthy” but also “economically healthy.” Yet again, tell that to the thousands of individuals who were forced out of their lifelong careers for the very thing, Mr. Mayor, that you are allowing millionaires, also known as ‘economically healthy’, people to do.

National Review reports:

The exemption for athletes and entertainers comes ahead of the upcoming baseball season, opening the field for unvaccinated Mets and Yankees to play home games too. Roughly two-thirds of Yankees players and at least ten Mets remain unvaccinated and will now be able to participate, Jon Heyman of the MLB Network noted.

New York Governor Blames ‘Illegal Gun’ in Fatal Shooting of NYPD Officer

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) blamed an “illegal gun” in the fatal shooting of NYPD officer Jason Rivera on Friday night.

Rivera, 22, was shot and killed and a second officer, Wilbert More, 27, was shot and wounded, Breitbart News reported.

The shooting suspect, Lashawn McNeil, 47, opened fire on Rivera and More as they approached him in a long hallway, CBS New York noted. McNeill was then shot twice by a third officer.

On Saturday, Hochul tweeted, “Last night, a shot from an illegal gun took the life of a NYPD officer.”

“When I say we’re going to do everything we can to stop the scourge of illegal guns in our state, it’s not just talk. We are tripling funding for efforts to get these guns off the streets,” Hochul added.

New York Mayor Eric Adams (D) responded to the shooting death of Rivera by calling for more gun control, Breitbart News reported

New York has some of the most stringent gun controls in the country. Mike Bloomberg-affiliated Everytown for Gun Safety ranks New York No. 3 in the nation “for gun law strength.”

Those laws include everything the Democrats are pushing at the federal level under the guise of safety, including universal background checks, a “high capacity” magazine ban, an “assault weapons” ban, a permit requirement to buy a handgun, a red flag law, gun storage requirements, “ghost gun” regulations, and a prohibition against gun possession by felons, among other controls.

McNeil, the man who allegedly shot the NYPD officers Friday night, is a convicted felon.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams Considering Booster Mandate for City Workers

Newly inaugurated New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) announced Sunday he is ready to mandate coronavirus booster jabs for all civic workers.

Adams, who was sworn in just a few hours earlier, used an appearance on ABC’s “This Week,” to reveal the city would “examine the numbers” and decide if the mandate was warranted.

“If we feel we have to get to the place of making that mandatory, we’re willing to do that, but we’re encouraging them to do that now,” the mayor also said, noting he is boosted.

“If we close down our city, it is as dangerous as COVID,” Adams added. “That’s what our focus must be. So that proper balance of safety [and] keeping our economy operated is going to allow us to get through.”

City workers have been mandated since November to be vaccinated against coronavirus however this is the first time the possibility of follow-up shots joining the mandate list has been aired by officials.

Last Thursday New York’s 110th mayor announced he will keep in place the city’s private-sector coronavirus vaccine mandate, as Breitbart News reported.

Adams’ remarks came after New York state said it registered a single-day record of 74,000 positive tests.

Eric Adams elected New York City Mayor

Eric Adams elected New York City Mayor

New York Daily News

Democrat Eric Adams breezed to victory in Tuesday’s mayoral election, becoming just the second Black man in history to get picked for the city’s top job after running a campaign centered on public safety and his deep experience in New York politics.

Adams, the Brooklyn borough president and a born-and-bred New Yorker, was declared the winner of the mayoral race shortly after polls closed as early results from the city Board of Elections showed him holding a commanding lead over long-shot Republican contender Curtis Sliwa.

In a city as deeply Democratic as New York, Adams’ win was expected.

Carried by a diverse coalition of supporters across the five boroughs, the victory gives him a powerful mandate to take over the reins from Mayor de Blasio, who’s leaving office at the end of this year due to term limits.

Rep. Elise Stefanik: Maskless Voters Facing ‘Illegal Voter Suppression’ in NY Election

Maskless voters are reportedly facing “illegal voter suppression” while attempting to participate in New York’s general election, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) warned on Tuesday.

“Team Elise is receiving reports from some towns and cities that voters are being told they must wear a mask in order to vote. Let us be very clear. This is illegal voter suppression,” the congresswoman tweeted in part. “The New York State Constitution is clear, nothing can inhibit a legal voter from going to cast their ballot in person. There is currently NO mandate requiring a voter to wear a mask to go vote despite what a Democrat poll worker will try to tell you.”

Stefanik blamed Democrats — who for a year have claimed Republicans are attempting to suppress minority voters with voter integrity legislation — for the reported voter suppression. She called on voters to record the names and locations of any poll workers who deny them the right to vote because of face masks.

“The work of certified Republican poll watchers has never been more important to hold the line and report this illegal activity immediately to your local board elections as well as our office,” she said.

Tuesday marks election day for New York, where several high-profile races will decided, including the contest for New York City mayor. Since current mayor Bill de Blasio cannot run for reelection, voters must choose new leadership as the city faces an increase in violent crime and a crippled economy. Democrat Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams is projected to beat Republican Curtis Sliwa, which is unsurprising considering Democrats outnumber Republicans “in the city’s five boroughs by a six-to-one margin,” Wall Street Journal reported.

New York is not the only state reportedly experiencing suppression of maskless voters. According to several reports, voters in Virginia were being told they must wear a face mask to vote — an action the commissioner of the Virginia Department of Elections reportedly condemned.

Republicans are less likely to wear face masks, meaning Republicans were potentially being denied the right to vote during one of the most high-stakes governor’s races in the U.S between Republican Glenn Youngkin and Democrat Terry McAuliffe.
