Exclusive Footage: Migrant Bus of Mostly Single Adult Men, Sent by Texas Gov. Abbott, Arrives in New York City

NEW YORK CITY — A bus filled with mostly single adult male migrants arrived at Port Authority in New York City from Texas Friday morning — where they were greeted by volunteers handing out burritos — as Gov. Greg Abbott (R) continues dispersing record-breaking numbers of border crossers and illegal aliens arriving in his state to Democrat-run “sanctuary cities.”

New York City officials appeared to be unprepared for the migrants’ arrival, or at least lacked communication and coordination to receive them, as Port Authority did not initially have a gate for the bus to park, and Port Authority employees were not aware of the plan for arrival. The bus circled between 8th and 9th avenues Friday morning until it was finally able to park at Gate 14 at approximately 7:30 a.m.

“Because of President Biden’s continued refusal to acknowledge the crisis caused by his open border policies, the State of Texas has had to take unprecedented action to keep our communities safe,” Gov. Abbott said in a statement.

“In addition to Washington, D.C., New York City is the ideal destination for these migrants, who can receive the abundance of city services and housing that Mayor Eric Adams has boasted about within the sanctuary city,” Abbott said. “I hope he follows through on his promise of welcoming all migrants with open arms so that our overrun and overwhelmed border towns can find relief.”

When the bus arrived, Breitbart News witnessed passengers disembarking after a 3-day journey from Texas, greeted by a handful of volunteers. One volunteer was wearing a “NYC immigration services” t-shirt, but there did not appear to be any city employees present.

The greeters handed migrants a bag bearing the logo of the humanitarian aid organization “Save the Children”; however, there appeared to be fewer than 10 children among the group, and no more than 5 women. The rest of the 60-some passengers on the bus were single males between the ages of 20 to 40 years old.

The volunteers led the group through Port Authority, corralled them into the entrance of the bus station and handed out burritos. Some migrants were provided rides to other locations, but it was unclear where.

One migrant, a man who said his name is Alfonzo and who arrived alone, told Breitbart News he traveled from Venezuela through Mexico into Texas, where he was put directly on the bus to New York City.

He left his wife and children in Chile and explained that he came alone to America first and planned to bring them later. He does not have any family or connections in the United States and does not speak English. He came with one bag containing some toiletries and a pillow, and had 130 U.S. dollars.

Alfonzo told Breitbart News that now was a good “opportunity” to come to the United States, explaining that he did not believe he would be admitted under former President Trump’s administration, specifically mentioning that the wall along the southern border was an obstacle to entry. He said locals in Mexico accepted money to direct him toward the border.

Alfonzo said he was looking for work, but had never been to New York City or the United States. He did not have a place to stay and was not informed of any lodging services or resources.

Despite Democrat officials’ support for illegal immigration through their expansive sanctuary city policies, which shield illegal aliens from arrest and deportation from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a handful have warned that the migrant buses from Texas will overwhelm their city’s public resources.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D), for instance, has pleaded with Biden for “additional federal resources immediately” to deal with the illegal immigration surge. In another statement, Adams told New Yorkers to get “on board” with having their city overrun with border crossers and illegal aliens arriving and straining infrastructure, hospitals, schools, and neighborhoods.

“Everyone’s block is going to be impacted by this,” Adams said. “And so we have to add our advocacy with our ability to help our neighbors. We need everyone on board with this.”

“… our schools are going to be impacted, our healthcare system is going to be impacted, our infrastructure is going to be impacted,” he continued.

Adams’ office claims the migrant buses’ being sent to New York City is akin to using border crossers and illegal aliens “as political pawns,” calling the policy “disgusting.”

Gov. Abbott has issued a public invitation to Mayor Adams to visit the southern border, insisting the “sanctuary city” mayor witness “the magnitude of chaos created by Biden’s open-border policies.”

“I really wish they would [visit] because public officials across the country, they do need to realize the magnitude of the chaos created by Biden’s open-border policies,” Abbott said on Fox News Thursday.

“They’re up in arms about a few thousand people coming into their communities over the past few months? Listen, in any one sector in the state of Texas, we have more than 5,000 people coming across in that sector every single day,” Abbott continued.

Similarly, Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser requested National Guard troops last month to deal with what she called a “humanitarian crisis” of just over 6,000 migrants being bused to the capital from Texas since April.

Mayor Bowser / Facebook

Bowser, a staunch supporter of the region’s sanctuary city policy, claimed the migrant buses were a “tipping point” for Washington, DC, even as they pale in comparison to the level of illegal immigration that American border towns are forced to deal with under the Biden administration.

In Texas border towns alone, nearly 130,000 border crossers and illegal aliens were caught crossing the border in June. Most recently, in the small town of Normandy, Texas — with a population of just 29 residents — about 400 border crossers and illegal aliens crossed into the area this month.

Open Borders Activists Balk at Red States Busing Illegal Aliens to Blue States

Open borders activists are balking at red states taking immigration enforcement into their own hands by busing border crossers and illegal aliens to blue states and cities like New York and Washington, DC.

In April, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) announced that state officials would begin chartering buses to transport border crossers and illegal aliens to Washington, DC, and other cities.

As a result, Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser is asking President Joe Biden to deploy the National Guard after she said about 4,000 border crossers and illegal aliens have arrived in the region over the last few weeks.

Illegal immigration to D.C., Bowser said, is at a “tipping point.” Similarly, New York City Mayor Eric Adams has warned New Yorkers that illegal immigration to the city is likely to cripple the healthcare system and infrastructure as well as overwhelm schools and neighborhoods.

Now, mass migration activists argue that Abbott’s order may not be legal.

“There are ongoing questions about what authority they have to bus people from one location to another,” Aaron Reichlin-Melnick with the American Immigration Council told the Texas Tribune. “Legally speaking, is that immigration enforcement? I still don’t know.”

The number of border crossers and illegal aliens arriving in D.C. and New York City pales in comparison to those arriving in America’s small border communities.

In Texas border towns, alone, nearly 130,000 border crossers and illegal aliens were caught crossing the border in June. Most recently, in the small town of Normandy, Texas — with a population of just 29 residents — about 400 border crossers and illegal aliens crossed into the area this month.

Texas Supreme Court Allows Abortion Ban to Go into Effect

The Texas Supreme Court reversed a lower court on Friday evening and allowed a pre-Roe 1925 law prohibiting abortions to go into effect.

The state supreme court’s order is the latest addition in an ongoing feud between Texas government officials and abortion providers following the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Although the 1925 law prohibiting abortions was not enforced after Roe was decided in 1973, the law remained on the books. A Harris County judge temporarily blocked the abortion ban after abortion clinics sued. The abortion clinics argued the law was effectively repealed when the Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade, but the Texas Supreme Court disagreed and allowed the pre-Roe ban to go into effect.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton applauded the court’s decision as a “Pro-life victory!”

“Pro-life victory! Thanks to my appeal, SCOTX has slapped down the abortion providers and the district court carrying their water,” Paxton tweeted. “Our state’s pre-Roe statutes banning abortion in Texas are 100% good law. Litigation continues, but I’ll keep winning for Texas’s unborn babies.”

Paxton declared an annual holiday within the state attorney general’s office on the day the Supreme Court overturned Roe.

“Abortion is now illegal in Texas. And today I’m closing my office—and making it an annual holiday—as a memorial to the 70 million lives lost because of abortion,” Paxton said.

Shortly after the Supreme Court’s decision, Planned Parenthood stopped performing abortions in Texas after Paxton warned that some prosecutors might choose to enforce the pre-Roe abortion ban.

Paxton said:

Some prosecutors may choose to immediately pursue criminal prosecutions based on violations of Texas abortion prohibitions predating Roe that were never repealed by the Texas Legislature. Although these statutes were unenforceable while Roe was on the books, they are still Texas law. Under these pre-Roe statutes, abortion providers could be criminally liable for providing abortions starting today.

Texas is one of several states with a “trigger law” that would criminalize performing abortions 30 days after the Supreme Court overturned Roe.

Texas’s trigger law, signed by Gov. Greg Abbott in June 2021, is set to go into effect at the end of July.

“Texas is a pro-life state, and we have taken significant action to protect the sanctity of life,” Abbot said after the Supreme Court’s decision.

Texas was the first state in the nation to enact a “heartbeat law” last September that would ban abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected.

Abbott: Enhanced Inspections Have Forced Multiple Mexican States to Negotiate on Border Security, We’ll Keep Inspections if They Don’t

On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) stated that the enhanced safety inspections of commercial vehicles coming into Texas from Mexico have predictably resulted in the governors of multiple Mexican states demanding relief from the traffic slowdowns caused by the inspections, and that as those states demand relief, “we are demanding that they implement security measures that will reduce illegal immigration coming across the border.”

He added that the governors of several Mexican states have either reached an agreement or are in talks with Texas to implement security measures. Abbott also vowed that if Mexican states won’t bolster security, “we are going to continue with our right to inspect every single vehicle coming across that bridge into the state of Texas, regardless of the economic consequences it poses to Mexico.”

Abbott said the inspections “had the predictable result, and that is it snarled traffic for miles…basically crashing economic conditions in these states as well as in the country of Mexico and having severe economic consequences for businesses in Mexico. And the predictable result is that these governors of states that are connected to the state of Texas would be knocking on our door begging for relief. And as they beg for relief, we are demanding that they implement security measures that will reduce illegal immigration coming across the border.”

He continued, “There are different standards that we will be applying to different states that are connected to the state of Texas. Yesterday, we announced an agreement with the governor of Nuevo Leon. Today, we are hammering out details with two more states that are adjacent to Texas, they have border crossings in Texas, that will have some different measures that enhance security, that [stop] the flow of illegal immigrants from their states to the state of Texas, and then there will be one more state governor that we are dealing with tomorrow to try to hammer out details with him. Altogether, we expect and we demand that, on the Mexican side, they finally step up and stop these low-water crossings and other actions that are allowing these illegal immigrants to cross the border. If they fail to do that, we are going to continue with our right to inspect every single vehicle coming across that bridge into the state of Texas, regardless of the economic consequences it poses to Mexico.”

Abbott added that “you may see heightened migration attempts in other states like New Mexico and California where they are being less resistant as Texas is.”

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Claims First Win in Title 42 Border Battle

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) claimed victory Wednesday after the governor of Mexico’s Nuevo Leon province promised to curb illegal migration in exchange for Abbott ending stringent safety checks on the trucks used to export goods from the province’s factories and farms.

“Today is a historic day where two governors are showing how to lead on border issues,” Abbot told a press conference where he denounced President Joe Biden’s easy migration rules and his plan to remove the Title 42 legal barrier on May 23.

Abbott said:

Governor [Samuel] Garcia [Sepulveda] and I reached an agreement today … Governor Garcia has begun and will continue enhancing border security enforcement measures on the Nuevo Leon side of the border, both at ports of entry and alongside the Rio Grande River, to prevent illegal immigration …  The Texas Department of Public Safety can return to its previous practice [and] The effect of this will be that the bridge from Nuevo Leone and Texas will return to normal, effective immediately. Right now. It will remain that way as long as the Nuevo Leon executes this historic agreement.

The deal reopens just one of several border crossings that have been clogged by the governor’s policy of stringent safety checks. Abbot says he has begun negotiations with other Mexican governors:

I look forward to working with all of them toward achieving results similar to what we are achieving today with Governor Garcia. Until, however, those agreements are reached with those states, the Texas Department of Public Safety will continue to thoroughly inspect vehicles entering into the United States from every Mexican state except Nuevo Leon.

The El Paso Times reported after the Nuevo Leon bridges were reopened::

[Mexican] truckers continued to wait hours to cross at the Ysleta and the Bridge of the Americas ports of entry in El Paso.

Truckers said they usually spend two or three hours crossing into El Paso from Juárez. After Gov. Greg Abbott announced new Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper inspections at ports of entry, truckers this week suddenly found themselves in 10-plus hour lines.

Even after the blockades lifted, inspections continued to stymie commercial truck traffic in much of the borderland, with no end in sight. Trucks waited in line for their turn at two inspection bays at the DPS station exiting the Bridge of the Americas. With inspections lasting 20 minutes or more, the line advanced at a crawl.

“We are seeing delays that will be felt across the country,” John Esparza, president of the Texas Trucking Association, told the Washington Post. “There’s the refrigerated segment of trucking, there’s household goods, forestry, fuel tankers, commodities for trade goods — this is about General Motors, Ford and everything coming out of Mexico, our trade partner.”

Abbott’s Democratic rival in the pending election, Beto O’Rourke, accused the governor of “killing businesses”:

Biden’s pro-migration border agency also complained, saying:

The Laredo Field Office has seen a significant increase in commercial wait times at ports of entry since April 8, 2022, when inspections by Texas DPS began. Hildalgo/Pharr which averages a 63 minute wait time, reached a peak wait of 320 minutes and experienced a 35% drop in commercial traffic. Currently, protests being conducted in Mexico blocking access to the bridge, purportedly over these Texas DPS inspections, have reduced commercial traffic by 100%.

But Abbott is facing down the criticism from business groups and from the White House.

“I’ll also know well the frustration of my fellow Texans — and my fellow Americans — caused by the Biden administration, not securing our borders,” Abbott responded, adding:

The ultimate way to end the clog at the border is for President Biden to do his job and to secure the border. If you want relief from the clogged border, you need to call President Biden and tell him to maintain the Title 42 expulsion policy that has been in place for years.

You need to tell President Biden to aggressively enforce the Remain in Mexico policy. You need to call your member of Congress and insist that they hold the Biden administration accountable. And you need to demand that President Biden enforce the immigration laws that have already been passed by the United States Congress.

You also need to contact President Lopez Obrador and urge him to collaborate with Texas to end the influx of cartel activity from Mexico into Texas.

“Clogged bridges can end only through the type of collaboration that we are demonstrating today. Between Texas and Nuevo Leon,” Abbott said, adding, “Until then, Texas will use its own strategies to secure the border and continue to negotiate with Mexico to seek solutions.”

Pro-migration groups — including David Bier at the open-borders Cato Institute — complained about Texas’s efforts to curb the federal policy of extracting migrants from poor countries:

“An explicitly illegal purpose. How is #Biden not suing right now? … Why are truckers not suing? What is going on?” Bier tweeted.

Since at least 1990, the D.C. establishment has used a wide variety of excuses and explanations — for example, “Nation of Immigrants” — to justify its policy of extracting tens of millions of migrants and visa workers from poor countries to serve as workers, consumers, and renters for various U.S. investors and CEOs.

The self-serving economic strategy of extraction migration has no stopping point. It is brutal to ordinary Americans because it cuts their career opportunities, shrinks their salaries and wages, raises their housing costs, and has shoved at least ten million American men out of the labor force.

Extraction migration also distorts the economy, and curbs Americans’ productivity, partly because it allows employers to use stoop labor instead of machines.

Migration also reduces voters’ political clout, undermines employees’ workplace rights, and widens the regional wealth gaps between the Democrats’ coastal states and the Republicans’ Heartland states.

Gov. Abbott’s D.C. Caravan Gimmick Won’t Secure The Border. Here’s What Will

In light of President Biden’s announcement he’s ending Title 42 removal authority at the southern border, last week Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced what he called “unprecedented” actions to stop the flow of illegal immigration. The first part of his plan, while lauded as aggressive, unfortunately falls short of unprecedented and won’t stop the invasion at the southern border.

It’s true: the end of Title 42 will ensure a catastrophic surge of illegal immigration heading into the warmer spring and summer months. That will overwhelm an already battered Border Patrol.

In the context of 2021’s record illegal immigration levels, an astonishing 78 percent increase in year-over-year apprehensions so far in 2022 from last year’s record levels, and the pending termination of Title 42, Abbott’s actions fall far short of the measures needed to secure Texas, diminish cartel control along the border, and defend American communities overrun with crime, drugs, and violence.

Abbott’s announced series of new measures are little more than window dressing. The governor is instructing the Texas Department of Public Safety to conduct “enhanced safety inspections” of vehicles crossing into Texas from Mexico, initiating “boat blockades” along the Rio Grande to deter crossings, and, to ensure more headlines: providing voluntary charter buses and flights to send illegal immigrants to Washington D.C.

Put another way, Abbott is using taxpayer dollars to pay for optional vacations 2,000 miles away — at a time of record gas prices — instead of turning these illegal migrants around and sending them two miles back across the border. Bussing illegals to D.C. is nice showmanship, but does nothing to change the illegal flow into Texas.

Abbott must do more than just set up road inspections (which ironically would slow the legal flow), deploy water obstacles, and offer voluntary illegal immigrant transportation services to left-wing cities. These policy solutions on their own will have no impact on the numbers of illegal aliens crossing Texas’s border with Mexico. None.

This is especially true of road inspections, because the overwhelming majority of illegal immigration occurs between ports of entry. The extent to which the governor believes such road inspections will put pressure on Mexico to crack down on illegal border crossings due to the diminished flow of goods and services is wholly contingent on the duration, scope, and intensity of the inspections.

That requires the governor to be absolutely clear about how much economic pressure he intends to put on Mexico and what metrics he and his team intend to achieve with regard to such inspections. That he has not done so requires clear-eyed observers to be skeptical of the policy’s presumed effectiveness.

What should Abbott do? Something that we at the Center for Renewing America have been advocating to border states: declare that an invasion is taking place in Texas under Article I, Section 10, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution and that in light of the Biden administration’s willful negligence and dereliction of its duty to carry out its Article IV, Section 4 responsibilities to protect the states, Texas will physically apprehend and remove illegal border crossers back across the border into Mexico.

It is up to states to use their inherent Article I authority to do what Washington refuses to do: secure their borders with Mexico.

We have provided state legislators and governors a clear policy path for bringing an end to the security crisis playing out along the southern border. This plan has already been validated by Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich in a landmark legal opinion issued earlier this year.

Americans do not have the luxury of withstanding another three years of the Biden administration’s intentionally destructive policies at the southern border. It is up to states and those elected to govern them to step into the breach and restore order and security.

Texas has the ability to get this done. All that is required is the resolve to see it through.

Nothing Abbott announced will accomplish any reduction of the flow of illegal aliens across Texas’ border, but he indicated that he intended to announce other efforts this week.

After a year of Texas’ “Operation Lone Star,” it should be clear to all: Until illegal border crossers are returned to Mexico reliably and regularly, no other efforts will have any useful impact. In fact, the money Texas is spending on Operation Lone Star is effectively being wasted because the one thing that would give it “teeth” and deter potential illegal border crossers is not being done.

For the sake of Texas and America, it is my most earnest hope that this week, finally, Gov. Abbott will use the power he has under the U.S. Constitution to repel the invasion crossing Texas’ border every single day.

Biden Admin Slows Migrant Drop-Offs in Texas After Governor Orders Them Bused to DC

Texas officials report the Biden administration stopped dropping off released migrants in many cities across the state following Governor Greg Abbott’s order to start busing them to Washington, D.C. From the Texas Panhandle to the Rio Grande Valley, Texas city officials sent the State requests for assistance in offering bus transportation for any released migrants who voluntarily want to catch a ride to the nation’s capital.

The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) dispatched multiple buses to areas where community leaders expressed concerns about the federal government dropping off migrants in their cities, TDEM spokesman Seth Christensen said in a written statement. He said Texas “has the capability to send as many [buses] as necessary to fulfill the requests from mayors and county judges.”

“From the RGV to Terrell County, a large majority of the communities that originally reached out for support through this operation have now said that the federal government has stopped dropping migrants in their towns since the governor’s announcement on Wednesday,” Mr. Christensen added.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced orders Wednesday for state officials to charter buses to transport migrants to Washington, D.C. in response to the Biden Administration’s plans to end the Title 42 coronavirus protection protocol and begin large-scale mass releases, Breitbart Texas reported.

“To help local officials whose communities are being overwhelmed by hordes of illegal immigration who are being dropped off by the Biden administration, Texas is providing charter buses to send these illegal immigrants who have been dropped off by the Biden administration to Washington, D.C.,” Governor Abbott said during a press conference on Wednesday afternoon in Weslaco, Texas. The governor said the first drop-off location will be the U.S. Capitol steps in the nation’s capital. He added that the bus rides are completely voluntary from the migrants’ perspective.

“We are taking them to the United States Capitol where the Biden administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they are allowing to come across our border,” the governor added. The governor signed the letter to TDEM Chief Nim Kid ordering the action.

“Texans have a backbone and the will to secure our border,” Abbott stated. “Two things that Joe Biden does not have.”

In addition to the busing program, the governor also announced that the State will begin enhanced safety inspections of commercial vehicles crossing the border from Mexico.

“A zero-tolerance policy for unsafe vehicles for smuggling migrants across the border is being implemented immediately,” the governor stated.

Breitbart Texas reached out to DPS officials for initial results from the enhanced safety inspections. The department is not yet ready to release statistical data on the operation at this early date, officials responded.

Texas officials also told Breitbart on Saturday that the Texas Military Department and the Department of Public Safety are already beginning lighting projects at border crossing areas currently being utilized by human smugglers to move large migrant groups across shallow water crossings.

Ending Title 42: Biden’s Border Policies Are ‘Unmitigated Disaster,’ Says Texas Governor

Texas Governor Greg Abbott quickly called President Joe Biden’s decision to end the Title 42 coronavirus protection protocol “reckless.” Abbott added that the president’s “open-border policies are an unmitigated disaster for national security.”

“Ending Title 42 expulsions will signal to cartels and migrants alike that our southern border is now wide open — inciting even more violence, more trafficking, and more lawlessness,” Governor Abbott said in a written statement following the Biden administration announcement that it would end the Title 42 protocol. “President Biden clearly has no intention to secure the border by faithfully executing Congress’ command to detain and deport illegal immigrants.”

The governor said the decision “will only further endanger Texans, and the State of Texas must take even more unprecedented action to keep our communities safe by using any and all constitutional powers to protect its own territory.”

President Joe Biden’s administration announced on Friday that it will end the Title 42 policy on May 23, Breitbart News reported. The move is expected to bring an even-larger wave of migrants to the U.S. southern border.

“We are increasing our capacity to process new arrivals, [and] evaluate asylum requests,” Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said in a written statement.

Governor Abbott called Biden’s open-border policies “an unmitigated disaster for national security.”

“His recklessness has forced the State of Texas to take unprecedented steps to fill the gaps — including deploying Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and over 10,000 Texas National Guard soldiers, jailing illegal immigrants who are charged with trespassing, and becoming the first state ever to build a wall to secure the border,” the Texas governor explained. “Instead of listening to the millions of Americans that his administration has endangered — and instead of enforcing immigration laws passed by Congress — President Biden has chosen to jeopardize the safety and security of those very Americans he swore to protect and defend by ending Title 42 expulsions.”

The move by the president’s team comes as more than 209,000 migrants crossed the border from Mexico into the U.S. in March, Breitbart Texas reported. The apprehension of 209,000 migrants in March represents the highest number of migrant apprehensions for one month since March 2000 — the last year of the Clinton administration. It also breaks the Biden-era record of 200,658 set in July 2021.

The March apprehensions put the total during the first six months of Fiscal Year 2022 at more than one million, Breitbart reported. A source revealed the startling number of apprehensions appear to be still on the increase.

The source says nearly 8,000 migrants were apprehended on Wednesday, breaking the single-day record for migrant encounters at the southwest border. Nearly 7 of 10 migrants apprehended since October 1 are single adults, according to the source. The source says limited removal pathways are contributing to overcrowding at Border Patrol processing facilities.

Lizzo’s Vision Of ‘Progress’ Includes Disposing Of The Most Vulnerable

Singer Lizzo railed against Texas’ abortion ban this week, indicating that it was a “regressive” attack on long-established access to the procedure.

“I’m not proud to rep Texan politics right now,” she reportedly said Sunday at the SXSW film festival. “There are very regressive laws being passed.” The 33-year-old entertainer pointed to Gov. Greg Abbott’s fight against hormone therapy for minors, and attacked the state’s heartbeat law, which she described as “atrocious.”

In making those comments, Lizzo may have unknowingly honed in on a critical question for the party that claims to champion human rights: Has the so-called “progressive” movement lost its humanity?

For Lizzo, progress and freedom entail politicians staying out of a woman’s uterus. “Mind your business,” she said. “Stay out of my body. This is not political,” But it would be a mistake to define “progress” as throwing off the shackles inhibiting our freedom to do what thou wilt.

Abortion is Regressive

Progressivism itself was born in the excesses of industry and sought to use the law as a means of restricting how much business could exploit human beings through practices like child labor. By contrast, today’s progressives make the “business case” for abortion and browbeat corporations into supporting cost-effective slaughter  — whether that manifests in Planned Parenthood’s budget, millions in federal grant money, or the balance sheets of major corporations.

A more accurate framing would portray liberal abortion access as regressive since it evokes an ignorance that preceded advances in detecting the humanity of unborn children. Abortion, as pro-choice advocates will note, isn’t a recent development for civilized society. Neither is letting disabled or unwanted children die after birth.

What is new is the level of sophistication we’ve employed for ending life despite having an unprecedented window into the reality of its existence.

“Nearly 50 years of scientific advancement have literally unveiled the humanity of the unborn child,” Dr. Tara Sander Lee of the pro-life Charlotte Lozier Institute told Fox News last year. The Harvard-trained physician added that before Roe “the unborn could barely be seen inside the womb via grainy black and white ultrasound images while now-debunked science claimed the unborn couldn’t feel pain.”

“After Roe, advancements in fetal ultrasound developed rapidly, paving the way to see the unborn with clarity, allowing the diagnosis of fetal malformations with more accuracy and surgical repair of some conditions inside the womb.”

Decades of scientific observation after Roe have led to a slew of pro-life laws that find their basis in biological facts. Texas’ six-week ban is one of many that have been passed with the justification that at that point in a pregnancy, babies harbor one of the most basic signs of life — a heartbeat.

Bleeding-heart social justice warriors should ask themselves: Is it progressive to poison an innocent child’s vital organ or crush the skull of someone who has their own, unique set of DNA? Never mind the dehumanizing process of sifting through their body parts in order to ensure an arm or aorta weren’t left behind in the process of dismemberment.

Discovering the Womb

The surgical precision of abortion procedures betrays any pretense that “cardiac pulsing,”as the media describes it, is just incidental to a particular “clump of cells’” existence. Abortionists specifically inject digoxin into fetal hearts in order to precipitate what they call “fetal demise.” Abortion’s mechanistic features – the surgical dismemberment, heart-stopping injections, and flesh-tearing suction – are all part of an effort to intentionally end the life of another human being.

As if to make the brutality more obvious, abortionists utilize ultrasound technology to ensure precision in how they dispose of the fetus’ body. That same technology, however, has made converts out of at least one former Planned Parenthood director (Abby Johnson) as well as a former abortionist and co-founder of NARAL. After seeing an ultrasound-guided abortion, Dr. Bernard Nathanson turned away from the practice and produced a documentary highlighting the procedure’s depravity.

Dubbed the “Silent Scream,” his 1984 film put on full display the flailing and apparently desperate movements of fetal life encountering an abortion instrument. Johnson similarly described seeing an 13-week fetus attempt to flee from suction. For some reason, though, those visuals aren’t among the many in progressive media that are apparently used to elicit sympathy for the downtrodden.

Lizzo’s vision for progress harkens back to a time when physicians blindly jabbed a woman’s uterus or grasped inside of her for fetal body parts. The darkness shrouding abortions is what presumably allowed Nathanson to be responsible for 75,000 of them and Johnson to pursue purported quotas for the number of abortions at her clinic.

What appeared to be mere numbers quickly became flesh when she stood in front of the screen of an ultrasound.”Nothing prepared me for what I saw on the screen – an unborn baby fighting back, desperate to move away from the suction … The last thing I saw was a spine twirling around in the mother’s womb before succumbing to the force of the suction,” Johnson said during her speech at the 2020 Republican National Convention.

Pro-choice advocates like the American College of Obstetricians Gynecologists (ACOG) have framed the debate over fetal pain in terms of human perception. As one abortionist noted, fetuses don’t start developing the thalamocortical fibers for processing pain until 23 weeks. Moreover, ACOG says, the “perception of pain requires more than just the mechanical transmission and reception of signals.”

But Dr. Stuart Derbyshire, who previously dismissed “fetal pain” as a “misnomer,” penned a paper in which he suggested that the prevailing consensus of pain at 24 weeks could be wrong.

“[T]he evidence,” Derbyshire wrote in his 2020 paper, “and a balanced reading of that evidence, points towards an immediate and unreflective pain experience mediated by the developing function of the nervous system from as early as 12 weeks.”

Progress for Everyone Except the Unborn

Amid the various conditions that progressives lament in modern America, are there any more oppressive than the potential pain and violence a 12-week-old fetus faces at abortion clinics? How about a fetus at six weeks of pregnancy, when they’ve only begun to have the chance at a beating heart?

In the last century, American feminists have seen an explosion of wealth and technology that’s fueled their ascent in social and economic structures. More recently, other minorities touted by the left have also seen historic levels of purported progress. For example, immigration levels are at a record high while the cap on refugee admissions has been raised to its highest level in U.S. history. The U.S. Supreme Court has also declared a “right” to “gay marriage” while taxpayer money funds the “transitions” of those who believe they are a different gender.

But the unborn – in all their helplessness – continue to face new and bolder threats from politicians, who want to not only legalize late-term procedures but fund them with taxpayer dollars as well. Despite what progressives may argue, the most marginalized, oppressed group you can support isn’t the men leading our cities’ pride parades or the plus-sized black women who are currently en vogue. Instead, it’s the unborn – who can’t even keep their hearts beating after the powerful insist on annihilation.

New Immigration Numbers Prove Biden Border Crisis Is Worst In History

New data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) show the severity of the Biden border crisis reaching a new milestone with more than 1.73 million arrests made in the 2021 fiscal year, the highest ever recorded. More than 1.1 million were single adults.

“I’ve been there before,” President Joe Biden said of the southwest border in a CNN town hall Thursday when pressed whether he’d plan a visit. “I guess I should go down.”

Biden however, hasn’t been to the border in more than a decade. On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki could only point to a “drive through” on the 2008 campaign trail.

The escalating crisis of overwhelming migration has led Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott take matters into his own hands. On Wednesday, the Center for Immigration Studies reported Abbott gave some 3,000 Texas National Guard troops the authority to arrest illegal immigrants for the first time ever under “Operation Lone Star.” Guard members were granted arrest powers this week after completion of “40 hours of traditional police training in the use of deadly force.”

“Nobody’s ever really used the guard before in this capacity,” said Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steven McCraw in an interview with CIS. “We’re going to use them to actually secure the border. The governor, the legislature, and the citizens of Texas have made it very clear; they want the border secure. It is good for our federal partner as well. The federal government should be thanking the state of Texas, and it’ll make the rest of the country safer as we increase the level of security.”

The National Guard will be focused on hot-spot areas such as Del Rio to minimized the surge of migration in the absence of federal leadership. Neither women, unaccompanied children, or entire family units will be subject to state arrest.
