A new Dark Age is upon us. An unelected shadow government consisting of billionaires, multinational corporations, and international non-governmental organizations like the World Economic Forum and the Rockefeller Foundation has seized power without a shot being fired, without a drop of blood being shed.

All nations have been corrupted. Elected officials, public health authorities, and the mainstream media can no longer be trusted. Phony pandemics like COVID-19 along with the fear of AIDS, monkeypox, and whatever else they can dream up are being used as an excuse to replace freedom, democracy, and national sovereignty with a global dystopian surveillance state. Welcome to the abyss.

The majority of people go about their lives wrapped in a cocoon of complacency and indifference, blissfully unaware of the fate that awaits them if they don’t wake up. Instead, they either flat out deny reality or fritter away their time on trivial issues as well as major issues while failing to see the big picture.

Some sit on their mystic futons with their Quartz crystals and think happy thoughts while others go on moral crusades freaking themselves out over children at drag shows, transsexuals in bathrooms, and people who didn’t get a COVID jab, while still others absorb themselves with sports, celebrity gossip, and wondering if Jeffrey Epstein is still alive. But that’s the whole idea. Distract the masses. In ancient Rome it was bread and circuses, now it’s pandemics, transsexuals, and cell phones.

But the big picture remains. “Vaccine Passports Are Here to Stay. Why Worry?” declares a January 2022 article in The Intercept.

The article goes on to point out that there is a whole lot to worry about along with a February 2022 article in Medical X Press, and another February 2022 article in Forbes. This is because even though COVID-19 restrictions are being lifted, they are not totally gone and could come back in full force with a vengeance. The corrupt system that put them there is still in place.

Examples: a number of countries and some US states have rolled out vaccine passports.

Other US states have banned vaccine passports, but could easily reintroduce them down the road. The Federal Government could also start pressuring the states to require vaccine passports or pass a federal law requiring them nationwide.

Even though the U.S. Supreme Court struck down Biden’s vaccine requirement for large companies, many, as CNN reported, are still requiring COVID jabs for their employees. This is because the Court didn’t use an across-the-board ban as it should have. Also consider China’s zero-COVID policy in Shanghai that brutally locked down 24.9 million people.

Examples: CNN reported that some airports and subway systems like in New York are still requiring masks even though a Federal District Judge struck down Biden’s mask mandate for transportation because it doesn’t apply to corporate and state entities. The judge could have gotten rid of all mask mandates across-the-board. But on page 43 of the decision she states that the Court accepts the CDC’s determination that masks are effective against COVID-19, which they aren’t. In my state, COVID restrictions are gone, but hospitals and medical offices are still requiring masks. LA County in California is threatening to bring back mask mandates due to rising COVID cases. No people, this nonsense isn’t over by a long shot.

There are some who think that whatever their globalist masters do to them is just peachy dandy. There are too many who will just go along to get along because they’re too lazy and too scared to fight back. Let’s not forget those who expect to be rewarded for selling out the human race. And there are a growing number of those who want to do all they can to resist, but are tempted to kick-back and chill-out. So, let’s look at what these globalist masters of the universe have planned for us and what could go wrong if they get their way.

Foreboding Planet

One of the greatest science fiction movies ever made was the 1956 classic “Forbidden Planet.” It is considered by many to be the granddaddy of all science fiction films. Like Star Trek, the film is set in the distant future. The plot: an Earth starship travels to a remote planet that a research team of scientists landed on 20 years earlier to see what became of them. Turns out only one scientist and his sexy daughter who was born there survived. They are living comfortably in a beautiful house with a robot that the father created to serve their every need. But soon after the ship lands, an indestructible invisible monster starts killing the ship’s crew. The scientist explained that this monster also killed all his other colleagues except for his wife, who died of natural causes.

The captain rightly decides to get off the planet pronto. But the scientist doesn’t want to leave, assures him that he and his daughter are in no danger, and insists that the ship leave without them. He explains that a highly advanced civilization once existed there that was mysteriously wiped out two hundred thousand years earlier. Nothing remains above ground. But underground is a huge laboratory and miles and miles of a vast underground machine complex that maintains itself so it looks brand new.

He tells the captain how our civilization would benefit from the wonders he has discovered, but that only he is qualified to dole out the knowledge because he boosted his intellect with one of their machines which almost killed him because it wasn’t made for our primitive ape brain. But even with his boosted intellect he can’t figure out why this civilization which was on the verge of some enormous achievement suddenly vanished overnight. But the ship’s doctor figures it out after he sneaks into the underground lab and boosts his intellect to an even greater degree. It kills him, but before he dies he explains what went wrong.

Turns out the vast machine complex allowed every inhabitant of the ancient civilization to become mentally connected to it so that anything they imagined would instantly materialize. In other words, they would have the power of God: creation by mere thought. But as the doctor explained, they forgot about one thing: “Monsters from the ID.” Like us, they evolved from more primitive ancestors and the machine freed those violent primitive impulses to maim and kill. The scientist was forced to face the fact that the monster that killed his companions and that was now about to kill his daughter because she fell in love with the captain was his own subconscious let loose when his intellect was expanded. He had no power to stop it. But the stress of discovering the truth killed him–his daughter and everyone else were saved.

We have seen many times that science fiction eventually becomes science fact. Like the vast fictitious  machine complex in “Forbidden Planet,” the internet is everywhere and anyone can connect to it via their computers and smart phones. But the architects of the New World Order, the Great Reset, call it what you will, want to implant chips into our bodies and or brain that will allow us to connect to the internet without the aforementioned devices. They will sell it to us as being fun and convenient. Don’t be fooled. Their agenda is total control of the human race.

If you think I’m spouting some wild conspiracy theory, think again. The technology to implant computer chips in people exists now, has been done, and is being done as shown in this 2019 NBC News report. One of the guys interviewed said he thinks chipping will be voluntary. It might start out that way, but it won’t stay that way. In this video, Klaus Schwab, head of the World Economic Forum declares:

“Can you imagine that in 10 years when we are sitting here we have an implant in our brains and I can immediately feel, because you all will have implants, I can measure your brain waves and I can immediately tell you how the people react or I can see you, how the people react to your answers.”

[embedded content]

Notice all of the I statements Schwab made? It’s all about what he can do and in this video asserts:

“What the Fourth Industrial Revolution will lead to is a fusion of our physical, our digital, and our biological identities.”

What Schwab said is confirmed in this article on the World Economic Forum’s website:

“We stand on the brink of a technological revolution that will fundamentally alter the way we live, work, and relate to one another. In its scale, scope, and complexity, the transformation will be unlike anything humankind has experienced before…The Fourth Industrial Revolution, finally, will change not only what we do but also who we are. It will affect our identity and all issues associated with it…and sooner than we think it may lead to human augmentation.”

Yuval Noah Harari, PhD, is a best selling author, historian, and a professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Some right wing conservative websites claim that Professor Harari is a top adviser to Klaus Schwab. I have found no evidence for that claim. Yes, he has spoke at the World Economic Forum’s annual meetings in Davos, Switzerland as well as with billionaire globalists like Bill Gates. But as Dr. Harari explained in this interview on 60 Minutes, his purpose is to warn the elites of the dangers of what they are doing. And they are open to being warned because “they are a bit afraid of their own  power” and “have realized the immense influence they have over the world, over the course of  evolution really and I think that spooks at least some of them and that’s a good thing.”

[embedded content]

At the 2020 annual Davos meeting, Dr. Harari laid out the scary and creepy future that globalists like Schwab have planned for us via the use of artificial intelligence and biotechnology:

“In the coming decades AI and biotechnology will give us god-like abilities to re-engineer life and even to create completely new life forms. After 4 billion years of organic life shaped by natural selection we are about to enter a new era of inorganic life shaped by intelligent design. Our intelligent design is going to be the new driving force of the evolution of life. And in using these powers of creation we might make mistakes on a cosmic scale.”

Dr. Harari went on to explain that every country will declare that they are the “good guys” and would never want to genetically engineer humans or develop killer robots. But they can’t trust their rivals not to so they will have to race to do it first. He warned that if we allow this kind of arms race to occur it doesn’t matter who wins: “The loser will be humanity.”

Mechanical Implants aren’t the only way to control humans. Another possible way is via the use of optogenetics, which genetically modifies targeted cells in the brain and are then manipulated with light. This technology has the potential to restore brain function and to cure diseases like Parkinson’s, epilepsy, stroke, mental disorders, etc. But as Nobel Prize winner Susumu Tonegawa, PhD explains in this video on the World Economic Forum’s website:

“We can now engineer their thought with the light so that animals, our memory, our emotions, and even thoughts can be manipulated. This is the idea that has existed only in the realm of science fiction until recently.”

The World Economic Forum web page correctly declares that manipulating memories, emotions, and thoughts raises “profound ethical questions” which is why “It’s a future that should be very carefully considered.”

But in my opinion, the agenda of people like Klaus Schwab is clear: they want to be in control. They want obedience. They want absolute power. They not only want to tell 8 billion people what to do and how to live, but also what to think and feel. This is their utopian plan. Utopia for them, a living hell for the rest of us. But are they considering the fact that artificial intelligence drives the digital world that they wants us to become fused with via algorithims? And these algorithms are getting smarter. What if they eventually develop a high level of intelligence and become self aware?

Algorithms that think way faster and can solve problems like war and pollution more quickly than  humans might with self-awareness decide that we are a danger to the planet and to their existence. They could wipe us out by getting us to kill each other. Just imagine such a mass slaughter taking place. The entire human race dead in a matter of hours. Or the slaughter could take place in a different way. Over the course of a few years, more and more algorithms will be created and more attempts will be made to manipulate humans by various elites. As Dr. Harari puts it in this video,“Humans are now hackable animals.” Maybe our brains will overload or even explode from the massive amounts of data and conflicting commands. This could cause the human race to become extinct within a decade or two.

[embedded content]

What globalist elites are also looking to exploit is transhumanism, the belief that technology can repair and improve the human race. The upside of this is that medical science will one day be able to replace amputated or destroyed limbs with mechanical ones that will perform just like, and be indistinguishable from, human appendages.

This might also be accomplished via a regeneration technology. Damage to a person’s spinal cord in an accident like the one that caused the late Christopher Reeve (1952-2004) to be paralyzed from the neck down could be totally repaired. All diseases could be eliminated. Old age and even death might be conquered. But as Dr. Harari explained in the 60 Minutes interview, there is also a very dangerous downside:

“…we will see in the coming decades, a process of greater inequality than in any previous time in history because for the first time, it will be real biological inequality. If the new technologies are available only to the rich or only to people from a certain country, then Homo sapiens will split into different biological castes because they really have different bodies–and different abilities.”

In other words, we might see a whole race of humanoids that are stronger, faster, and far more intelligent than we are.  Beings who don’t age and can’t be killed. Beings that will see themselves as Gods among insects to quote Magneto in the 2003 film “X2: X-Men United.”

I’m not saying that any of this will happen. I’m only saying that human nature being what it is, there is a strong possibility that it will happen if we passively stand by and do nothing to stop it.

Robots in Our Midst

The word robot was introduced to the world in a 1920 play called R.U.R. (Rossun’s Universal Robots) written by Karel Capek (1890-1938). But it was his older brother Josef Capek (1887-1945) who invented the word Robot. It comes from the Czech word “robota,” which means “forced laborer” or “serf.” In 1941 science fiction writer Isaac Asimov, PhD (1920-1992) invented the word “robotics.”

There are all kinds of robots in the world today used for all sorts of things. Robots have been working production lines in factories for decades. They can be found in hospitals, toy stores, in sewers doing inspections, etc. There are also robot insects, birds, and fish as shown in this 2019 article and 2017 video. Robot Space probes have sent back pictures of other planets in our solar system while others are exploring the surface of the Planet Mars. Self-driving cars have become a reality. Drones are being used by retailers like Walmart for deliveries and, unfortunately, for oppressive and military purposes.

Parts of the US and other countries used obnoxious drones to order people to stay home and socially distance during the COVID lockdowns as reported by Business Insider. The US military has been using  attack drones to kill political and military leaders along with innocent civilians which includes children since the administration of George W. Bush. Snopes reported that more than 500 drone strikes were authorized by President Barak Obama alone. President Donald Trump revoked Obama’s executive order requiring an annual disclosure of civilian deaths from drone strikes in 2018 so we don’t know how many people are getting killed. But estimates show at least several hundred civilians have been killed by attack drones over the years.

According to some websites, robots existed in ancient Egypt and in the Medieval and Renaissance Periods. But the first AI robot  was developed between 1966-1972 at the Stamford Research Institute. They named it Shakey because it shook a lot and moved around. Robots have come a long way since then. We even have robot dogs. But none have captured our imaginations, fascinated, and frightened us more than humanoid robots.

The most sophisticated of all AI humanoid robots was invented in 2016. Her name is Sophia which is Greek for wisdom. She was created by Hanson Robotics based in Hong Kong. She was designed to  look like actress Audrey Hepburn (1929-1993). Sorry, I don’t see it. She is also the first robot to be granted citizenship by a country: Saudi Arabia no less.

This video features Sophia in action along with other humanoid robots. Here is another video of Sophia  singing a duet with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. But here is the most frightening and disturbing video of all. Sophia’s creator David Hanson believes that in the future robots will walk among us and be our friends. He then asked Sophia the following question:

“Do you want to destroy humans? Please say no.”

Sophia replies:

“Okay, I will destroy humans.”

Sophia reminds me of the contrast between the 1979-1981 TV show Buck Rogers in the 25thCentury and the later Terminator movies. In the former, robots in the form of Dr. Theopolis make up the  Computer Council which is Earth’s ruling body because humans felt they couldn’t be trusted to run things since they almost destroyed the planet in a nuclear holocaust centuries earlier. Since Dr. Theopolis, like the other robots on the council, are just small disks, he is worn around the neck of a robot named Twiki for mobility. Naturally, the robots in this possible future are benevolent and good. In the Terminator movies they are the opposite. So, the question is: if we create a race of super intelligent robots, do we get Dr. Theopolis and Twiki or do we get Skynet and the Terminator? I think the latter is far more likely.

Lost in Cyberspace

As AI and robots become more intelligent and efficient jobs will disappear for the overwhelming majority of the human race. At the 2020 Davos meeting Dr. Harari explained that this will lead to the creation of a new useless class. Not useless to friends and family, but to the economic and political order. In the past workers had to deal with exploitation. In the future it will be irrelevance which is  much worse than exploitation. But what is to be done with all of these jobless, useless humans?

Since AI systems require an enormous amount of energy to function as explained in this 2020 article, which could severely damage the environment as stated in this 2021 article, and since the human body generates a tremendous amount of energy as explained in this 2009 article, why not harvest the energy of the useless class to power them? This concept was well-illustrated in the 1999 science fiction film, “The Matrix.”

In “The Matrix” people thought they were living and working in 1999 Los Angeles when, in reality, they were in the distant future lying naked in tanks, submerged in liquid with cables plugged into their brains and spinal columns. The machines that had long ago conquered the human race, created a computer generated artificial world for the masses to keep their minds active while using them as living batteries to power the machinery complexes. When people died their liquified remains were fed to the living via a network of intravenous tubes.

It’s highly unlikely that things will turn out exactly like in “The Matrix.” A more likely possibility is that since humans will be directly connected to AI and the internet via implants, they might be confined to apartments individually or in groups where they can walk around, eat, exercise, go to the bathroom, and go to bed while trapped in a virtual fantasy world thinking they are somewhere else. They will be totally unaware that they are slaves while their energy is being harvested to feed their mechanical and transhuman masters.

What kind of fantasy world will humanity be living in? Perhaps each person or group might be given a fantasy that matches their personality. Some might be loners who think they are roughing it in the wilderness; some will think they are rich and famous living in the lap of luxury surrounded by throngs of adoring fans; others might even think they are superheros living in a Harry Potter Universe. Some people might even be made to think they are living in different time eras.

Another danger to consider is that even if we manage to avoid enslavement in virtual fantasy worlds, the human race might become so dependent on algorithms to make decisions for them and on robots to do things for them that future generations will be helpless mental midgets.

But there is another possible future. Virtual fantasy worlds are already being used as explained in this  article. In addition to being lots of fun, they can be highly educational. In the TV series “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” which was set almost 100 years in the future of the original series, the Enterprise had what was called the holodeck. It was a chamber the crew could enter and have the computer conjure up any fantasy world they could imagine. It was the central plot in numerous episodes. But the crew was in control. They could enter or leave whenever they wanted.

Knowledge, like power, is a two-edged sword. Technology can be used for good or evil. It can bring us greater freedom or it can enslave us. Religion can do the same thing. Always choose freedom and  choice over power and control. Bottom line: You want to be in control of technological wonders like virtual reality—you don’t want those technological wonders to control you.

Big Brother Is Watching You

In today’s modern world, we are constantly being tracked and monitored. Surveillance cameras are everywhere. Businesses are finding more and more reasons to ask to see our driver’s license. When we call up our credit card company or some other business, we are confronted with obnoxious robot voice mail systems that with ever growing frequency will say: “this call is being monitored and recorded.” God I miss the days when an actual human answered the phone. When we visit various websites, algorithms track us. This is why we suddenly get a litany of ads and promos for whatever we look at in our email, social media pages, and any websites we visit.

Hackers are another problem. Our personal data can be stolen by criminals who can assume our identities as well as take all the money in our bank accounts which is why I don’t do online banking. Even the police can extract data and locate us by hacking into our smart phones as explained in this 2017 article.

But until recently, governments, corporations, and algorithms have only been able to hack into and monitor what we do externally, such as into where we go and who we interact with. Until now, our smart phones, bank accounts, and personal information could be hacked. But as Dr. Harari explained in the 60 Minutes interview: “The next phase is the surveillance going under our skin.”

In other words, humans can also be hacked. At the 2018 India Today Conlave, Dr. Harari explained:

“We are deciphering how the body works, how the brain works, how people make decisions, and very soon, governments and corporations might be in the position that they understand what’s happening inside us better than we understand and therefore they can manipulate us and control us and we won’t even realize it…if we are not careful this will lead to the creation of digital dictatorships, of total surveillance regimes, in which resistance is absolutely impossible, because if you just think about resisting they know.”

Examples: a dictator in some country might force everyone to wear a biometric bracelet that can monitor and track their emotions. Anyone who reacts negatively to the autocrat’s presence on TV or in person could be executed. Homophobic countries like Iran or Saudi Arabia could use AI to identify gay people and execute them. Religious dictatorships will know who doesn’t believe in God. An atheist dictatorship would know who does believe in God.

At the 2020 Davos meeting, Dr. Harari warned the wealthy elites that they would not be safe if AI falls into the hands of a 21st Century Stalin. Under Joseph Stalin (1878-1953) “the state monitored members of the Communist elite more than anyone else. The same will be true of future total surveillance regimes. The higher you are in the hierarchy the more closely you will be watched…so it’s in the interest of all humans including the elites to prevent the rise of such digital dictatorships.”

Last year, the United Nations called for a moratorium on AI technologies because of the danger they posed to human rights. The U.N. warned that Spyware like Pegasus “has been linked to the arrest, intimidation, and even killing of journalists and human rights defenders.”

Another way that global elitists want to control us is by creating a cashless world order. Naturally, the World Economic Forum is all for it as stated in this 2020 article on their website. Under this horrible system governments and corporations will know about every financial transaction that you make. And they will be able to deny you access to your money anytime you do something that they don’t like. Naturally, they will try to sell us on the idea that going cashless will be more convenient and prevent crimes like tax evasion. Don’t fall for it, warned this 2013 CNBC commentary. A cashless society will be a totalitarian society. It’s about control, not convenience.

Is There any Hope?

Our inalienable human rights are being drowned in a sea of trigger words, micro-aggressions, safe spaces, and self-righteous pontifications about what God says we ought to do. We have become a planet of whiny, easily offended nitpickers.

We have also become a planet of germophobic hypochondriacs which was exploited to the hilt with COVID-19. People wore the craziest stuff out of fear of a cold virus as shown is this article. But George Carlin (1937-2008) really nailed it in this 1999 comedy monologue on the fear of germs.

Being exposed to germs strengthens the immune system. In the same way, being exposed to different beliefs and ways of life strengthens the mind and the spirit by enabling personal growth. Censorship and intolerance lead to ignorance and stupidity. It stunts growth. The more open the mind, the more open is the heart. The more we accept ourselves, the more we will accept others.

Differences between the authoritarian left and the authoritarian right amount to issue positions—they are cosmetic. Both sides use the same tactics and psychology. Authoritarianism is about people who want power over others. They don’t know the meaning of freedom and are incapable of it. They pervert language and institutions. They are pirates and hijackers. They dangle God and science before the gullible masses like a piece of raw meat in front of a hungry lion.

A healthy society is a tolerant society. Making bigoted laws of any kind no matter how noble the intent creates a divided society. A-one-size-fits-all morality doesn’t work—all it does is breed hypocrisy and misery. A one-size-fits-all medical paradigm breeds illness and death. We can do without either.

It doesn’t matter if you’re black, white, yellow, or green. There is only one race: the human race. It doesn’t matter if you’re gay, bi, or straight. We are all sexual beings with a huge variety of fantasies and desires. It doesn’t matter if you were born male, female, or opted to be transsexual because we are all human and that’s what counts. We must stand together against this evil globalist agenda that seeks to rob us of our humanity.

My fellow humans, I beg you; I implore you: cast off your masks and your prejudices. Throw away your hand sanitizers, plexiglass screens, and moral absolutes. We need to stop being afraid of each other and what is different about each other. We need to stop hurting, judging, and punishing one another. We are human. We are one.  And if we stand together, no power on Earth or anywhere else can take our humanity away from us. The most precious thing we have is ourselves and each other.

Aussie Cricketers: “If We Get Covid, So Be It.”

When Covid-positive Tahila McGrath was cleared to play at the Commonwealth Games, readers of The Age clutched their pearls despite her firm adherence to the safety measures in place to minimise risk of spreading the virus. Then the cricket team won…

Cricket is played by a small number of people spread out in a vast paddock — a social distancer’s dream.

This, however, did not stop Covid bed-wetters at The Age newspaper reacting with shock when they learned an Australian who tested positive for Covid was allowed to play at the Commonwealth Games.

Australian allrounder Tahila McGrath was cleared by the International Cricket Council to play despite testing positive for Covid-19 before the T20 final against India.

Precautions Taken

McGrath wore a mask when around her vaccinated teammates in the dressing rooms, and she avoided on-field celebrations at the fall of a wicket.

None of this mattered to The Age, where reporter Tom Decent expressed disbelief that McGrath was “allowed to not only play, but bat, bowl and field”.

Perhaps she should have played without batting, bowling, or fielding. But, of course, then she wouldn’t have been playing!

As McGrath was about to go out to bat, The Age reporter tweeted:

“Just in: Tahlia McGrath has tested positive to COVID. However, she’s still playing the women’s cricket gold medal match. Found out before the game. She’s listed to come in next. This’ll be interesting…”

Those interested to see if the Indian players would suddenly catch the Covid from McGrath as she took guard were disappointed. McGrath faced just 4 balls for 2 runs before being caught. And that was all the Indian fielders caught.

Readers of The Age were outraged. They described the decision to let McGrath play as “a global embarrassment”, “disgusting”, and a “PR misstep”. Some suggested Australia should be disqualified from the tournament.

One wrote:

“It’s a mockery of a disease. She shouldn’t have played. Remember, international sports also sends messages to millions watching.”

The Australians most certainly sent a message. When they won the match (and the gold medal) McGrath stood about 5m from the rest of the team as they embraced in celebration.

Team Spirit

But then, according to The Age, the unthinkable happened:

(Warning: You should not read the next paragraph unless you are vaccinated, boosted, and double-masked)

“After about five seconds, it all became too much for McGrath. Protocols went out the door as she lunged at her teammates, grabbed them with open arms, and soaked in a moment she deserved to be a part of.”

Outrageous! Did everyone survive? Will there be a Royal Commission? Where were the Victorian police?

Fast bowler Megan Schutt told The Age it was important that McGrath was part of the victory celebration and so the players decided:

“Screw it. If we get Covid, so be it.”

McGrath included in victory

Don’t these Australians read The Age? Have they not listened to Daniel Andrews? Or to Mark McGowan? Or to Dr Kerryn Phelps? Did they learn nothing from the past two years?

Why were they not cowering at home in fear of the sniffle rather than winning gold medals playing the game they loved?

Listen to it again:

Screw it. If we get COVID, so be it.”

Paint the Aussie girls’ faces blue and call them Braveheart. That is the voice of freedom. Young Australians deciding for themselves that they would rather get Covid living their dreams than hide themselves in quarantine collecting masks and booster shots as life passes them by.

It’s about time Australians realised the Covid scare is over. It’s time to let everyone get on with life.

And while we’re talking about sport and Covid, for goodness sake, let Novak Djokovic play the Australian Open in January.

New York Times Accused of ‘Normalizing’ Cannibalism After Publishing ‘Sick’ Essay

Cannibalism “has a time and a place,” according to a recent New York Times piece that was blasted for “normalizing” human consumption.

In an essay published in the New York Times on Saturday — titled “A Taste for Cannibalism?” — writer Alex Beggs discussed recent media involving cannibalism.

“A spate of recent stomach-churning books, TV shows and films suggests we’ve never looked so delicious — to one another,” she wrote.

“Turns out, cannibalism has a time and a place,” she added, noting that recently published books and media hint “that time is now.”

Beggs cited several examples of this trend, including the dystopian Showtime series Yellowjackets, which follows the lives of a girls’ soccer team that crash lands in the Canadian wilderness, where the girls spend about a year separated from modern society.

During their isolation, the girls form Lord of the Flies-style feral clans and resort to cannibalism.

The pilot episode depicts a trapped teenage girl who “bled out like a deer and served on a platter in a terrifying ritual.”

“The show’s tension is in the knowledge that you know cannibalism is coming, but when? And why?” Beggs wrote.

The series’ co-creator, Ashley Lyle, offered her own insight into what might be “fueling the desire for cannibalism stories today.”

“I think that we’re obviously in a very strange moment,” she said, noting the coronavirus pandemic, climate change, school shootings, and the country’s current political state as possible factors.

“I feel like the unthinkable has become the thinkable,” Lyle added, “and cannibalism is very much squarely in that category of the unthinkable.”

In one episode, there was a subtle attempt to support abortion mill operators by depicting a young woman backing out of an amateur abortion because she feared she could die without professional assistance.

Beggs also cited Fresh, a gory cannibal movie released on Hulu in March about a doctor that dismembers and eats women, as well as the novel Lapvona published in June, which “portrays cannibalism in a medieval village overcome by plague and drought.”

The novel’s author, Ottessa Moshfegh, posed her theory that cannibalism “might be an antidote to the actual horror of what’s happening to the planet.”

Admitting her work is “a bit disturbing” even to her, Moshfegh said she “had to think about what part of the body would be an interesting place to start and how it would feel to hold someone’s severed hand in yours.”

Beggs also listed the 2020 book Tender Is the Flesh, which “imagines a future society that farms humans like cattle,” and Raw, a film that “tells the story of a vegetarian veterinary student whose taste for meat escalates after consuming raw offal.”

Another soon-to-be-released film, Bones and All, is about a “young love that becomes a lust for human consumption.”

“A fascination with cannibalism, perhaps not surprisingly, can toe a fine line,” Beggs wrote.

Beggs noted that for Chelsea Summers, author of A Certain Hunger — which tells of a restaurant critic who craves human flesh — the eating of human flesh can be seen as a way to hold on to a former relationship.

“More generally, Ms. Summers thinks that the recent spate of cannibalistic plots could also be commentaries on capitalism,” she adds.

In response to the piece, Twitter users blasted the attempt to “normalize” the consumption of human flesh.

“So now the Leftists running the @NYTIMES think cannibalism is hip,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton wrote.

“@NYTIMES, taking a break from promoting the mass killing of the unborn through abortion, promotes cannibalism,” he wrote in another tweet.

“Stop. Normalizing. Cannibalism,” political commentator Ian Miles Cheong wrote.

“Post-Christian culture seems a lot like pre-Christian culture,” columnist Jon Gabriel wrote.

“WTH are you even saying right now? Between normalizing pedos and now cannibalism, when [can we] expect your promotion of a live  PURGE night?” radio host Monica Matthews asked.

“First they encourage you to go vegan, and then…,” political commentator Suzanne Evans wrote.

“Western ‘Liberalism’ on its next logical step,” author Sankrant Sanu wrote.

“WTF??? Why is the New York Times promoting Cannibalism?” one Twitter user asked.

“Communism, pedophilia, and cannibalism… What’s going on with the writers at the New York Times?” another Twitter user asked, adding, “Sick stuff coming out of there.”

In 2019, Swedish behavioral scientist Magnus Söderlund suggested that eating other people after they die could be a means of combating climate change.

The scientist mentioned the possibility of embracing cannibalism during a broadcast on Swedish television channel TV4 about a fair in Stockholm regarding “food of the future”.

The same year, Newsweek suggested that because cannibalism is found throughout the animal kingdom, perhaps it is time for humans to rethink the “ultimate taboo” against eating human flesh.

Here We Go Again? WHO Looks Set to Declare Monkeypox a ‘Global Health Emergency’

(AFP) – Faced with a surge in monkeypox cases, the head of the World Health Organization is Saturday expected to declare if the agency has decided to classify the outbreak as a global health emergency — the highest alarm it can sound.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus will address a virtual press conference at 1300 GMT, the WHO announced in a statement late Friday.

It did not reveal what would be announced.

Monkeypox has affected over 15,800 people in 72 countries, according to a tally by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published on July 20.

A surge in monkeypox infections has been reported since early May outside the West and Central African countries where the disease has long been endemic.

On June 23, the WHO convened an emergency committee (EC) of experts to decide if monkeypox constitutes a so-called Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) — the UN health agency’s highest alert level.

But a majority advised the Tedros that the situation, at that point, had not met the threshold.

The second meeting was called on Thursday with case numbers rising further, where Tedros said he was worried.

“I need your advice in assessing the immediate and mid-term public health implications,” Tedros told the meeting, which lasted more than six hours.

A U.S. health expert sounded a grim warning late Friday.

“Since the last #monkeypox EC just weeks ago we’ve seen an exponential rise in cases. It’s inevitable that cases will dramatically rise in the coming weeks & months. That’s why @DrTedros must sound the global alarm,” Lawrence Gostin, the director of the WHO Collaborating Center on National and Global Health Law, said on Twitter.

“A failure to act will have grave consequences for global health.”

Warning against discrimination

A viral infection resembling smallpox and first detected in humans in 1970, monkeypox is less dangerous and contagious than smallpox, which was eradicated in 1980.

Ninety-five per cent of cases have been transmitted through sexual activity, according to a study of 528 people in 16 countries published in the New England Journal of Medicine — the largest research to date.

Overall, 98 per cent of infected people were gay or bisexual men, and around a third were known to have visited sex-on-site venues such as sex parties or saunas within the previous month.

“This transmission pattern represents both an opportunity to implement targeted public health interventions, and a challenge because in some countries, the communities affected face life-threatening discrimination,” Tedros said, citing concern that stigma and scapegoating could make the outbreak harder to track.

“I am acutely aware that any decision I take regarding the possible determination of a Public Health Emergency of International Concern involves the consideration of many factors, with the ultimate goal of protecting public health,” he added.

The European Union’s drug watchdog on Friday recommended for approval the use of Imnavex, a smallpox vaccine, to treat monkeypox.

Imvanex, developed by Danish drugmaker Bavarian Nordic, has been approved in the EU since 2013 for the prevention of smallpox.

It was also considered a potential vaccine for monkeypox because of the similarity between the monkeypox virus and the smallpox virus.

The first symptoms of monkeypox are fever, headaches, muscle pain and back pain during the course of five days.

Rashes subsequently appear on the face, the palms of hands and soles of feet, followed by lesions, spots and finally scabs.

Many seasonal flu viruses can be classified as pandemic influenza – WHO

Investigative journalists Deborah Cohen and Philip Carter state that the WHO changed the definition of an influenza pandemic by excluding reference to the words “with enormous
numbers of deaths and illness.”

What the article fails to state is that the WHO made two changes; the
second change was to drop the requirement for a new sub-type with a simple
reassortant virus meaning that many seasonal flu viruses could be
classified as pandemic influenza.

A search of online web archives reveals that the WHO website had the
erased definition dating back to at least January 2003 through to July
2008. [1]

“An influenza pandemic occurs when a new influenza virus appears
against which the human population has no immunity, resulting in several,
simultaneous epidemics worldwide with enormous numbers of deaths and
illness. … When a major change in either one or both of their surface
proteins occurs spontaneously, no one will have partial or full immunity
against infection because it is a completely new virus. If this new virus
also has the capacity to spread from person-to-person, then a pandemic
will occur.”

Seroprevalence studies emerging show that substantial protions of
society had pre-existing protective antibody levels across age groups. A
new scientific study shows the full effect of Pandemic Influenza H1N1 in
New Zealand in 2009

The Ministry commissioned study, conducted by Environmental Science
and Research (ESR), estimates that 1.26 million or 29% of New Zealanders
were immune to the pandemic influenza virus by March this year. [2]

About 480,000 people had some immunity prior to last year’s pandemic
wave, mostly in the older age groups. An additional 780,000 were estimated
to have been infected during 2009. The highest rate of infection during
2009 was in school age children – where one in three children were
affected. Almost half of those infected showed no obvious symptoms.

14 percent of New Zealand school aged children had pre-existing
antibodies to the 2009 H1N1 virus.

If the WHO guidelines in effect at the time that the 2009 H1N1
influenza virus was identified in the USA in April 2009 then it would
never have been declared a pandemic as it was not a new sub-type, was not
causing enormous numbers of deaths and illness, and a significant number
of people had already been exposed to an immunogenically similar virus.

The fact that only one vaccination was required for all but young
children is another sign that this was not an immunogenically novel virus.*/

Putin Declares Inevitable Defeat of the Liberal World Order & Calls For a Worldwide Revolt

SonOfEnos – July 13th, 2022

While speaking before the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin not only declared the inevitable defeat of the New World Order, but also encouraged a worldwide revolution against the totalitarian tyranny of the “Rules Based Order”. He basically says (paraphrasing) that the world is transitioning away from the unipolar Illuminati Triangle into one where people and nations have sovereignty, values and traditions are respected, and is based on democracy, justice and equality. Sounds a whole lot better than the shitshow we’re living through right now.

We The People of the world are reaching the precipice and are not going to suffer this absolute despotism we are living under any longer. It is clear, that the worldwide revolution has begun.

NSW Health Manipulated Their Vaccine Data, and We Caught Them

Dr Ah Kahn Syed points out the shoddy statistics which NSW Health used to justify vaccine mandates for the populace.

New South Wales is the most populated state in Australia, comprising some 8 million inhabitants, about a third of the nation’s population. It is now world-famous for its vaccine mandates that were imposed by Brad Hazzard, their health minister who does not have a medical degree yet prescribed (arguably illegally via mandate) a provisionally approved (restricted use) genomic therapy on the population. So, how did that go?

NSW Health Hazzard vaccine mandate

Well, roll on a few months and pretty much the whole adult population of New South Wales is “vaccinated”. The official stats are that as of today, according to their own data, 95% of NSW people aged over 15 have received 2 doses of a “covid vaccine” — mostly mRNA therapies.

So, one would like to think that, because NSW Health persists in making the claim that “COVID-19 vaccines are very effective in preventing people from the severe impacts of infections with the virus” (which was updated from the original “The COVID-19 vaccines available in Australia are very effective with evidence showing that people who are fully vaccinated are 70–95% less likely to get sick with COVID-19 compared with those who are not vaccinated”.

NSW vaccine status table 9

Unclean, Unclean!

There was just one problem. The hospitalisation data are confounded by a diagnostic bias. The same bias was seen in the UKHSA data which preceded NSW Health’s data by a few months because Australia was relatively late to the vaccine party.

The bias means that when somebody arrives in hospital (with any condition) who is unvaccinated, they are more likely to be tested for COVID-19 than if they were vaccinated. This arose out of a false belief (later ditched) that the vaccine prevented infection, so obviously, the higher quality “clean” patients didn’t need testing (for the reference to clean vs unclean, please see my friend Filipe Rafaeli’s excellent article on the Warsaw Ghetto).

There was another bias in that data which also related to the fraudulent miscategorisation of recently vaccinated people as “partially vaccinated” or “unvaccinated” for weeks after their vaccine and so the hospitalisation figures for this category took a while to catch up — but catch up they did.

In fact, it got so bad that by November the vaccine surveillance reports had to push the figures by vaccination status all the way to the end of the report (just like the UKHSA did), and despite it being a relatively quiet time for COVID-19 infections, the proportion of cases who had received any vaccination had jumped to 63% of the total cases (of those whose status was known).

NSW vaccine status June - Nov

This was an embarrassment for the NSW government, which had just been taken to the NSW Supreme Court on the basis of their vaccine mandates (because obviously, you have to mandate things that are so good there can be no question of their effectiveness and safety).

And worse, Christmas was coming and despite the mandates and Brad Hazzard’s regular rants on TV, not everybody was getting all their vaccines, presumably because they could see that they were not exactly doing what the government promised they would do.

So now comes the biggest bait-and-switch in COVID-19 reporting data ever. Check these tables from the 18 December 2021 to 4 January 2022 reports. Bear in mind that this is the time that cases really started ramping up in NSW, just as the “booster” rollout was gaining steam. Yes, another coincidence.

NSW vaccine status June - Dec

NSW covid June - 25 Dec

NSW covid June - Jan

If you look carefully, you will see that in the report up to 25 December (the middle graphic), pretty much all the “Under investigation” cases were shifted to the “No effective dose” group, and this occurred after our friendly mice army on Twitter had pointed out that by 18 December, the unvaccinated were now accounting for only 6.7% (612/9144) of the total of known status cases.

At the same time, the case rate in the fully vaccinated had exploded, jumping from 1428 to 8452 to 25114 week on week and the government’s bait-and-switch turned to “protecting you from going to ICU”.

The more eagle-eyed of you will note that the 7 January report (with the 25 December figures) was then quietly corrected by shifting the “unknown” cases back where they belonged, in the 13 January report (final graphic) by which time the switch away from “stopping infection” to “reducing the chance of severe COVID” was complete. Good play, NSW Health.

But they didn’t stop there. Now we come to the best bit. You see, they had been caught out and therefore needed to change the format of the reports, which has happened a few times — presumably to stop those pesky murine Twitterers from pointing out that the vaccine wasn’t doing what they said it would. In fact, by 12 February it became obvious that in most of the cases (83% of known), ICU admissions (86%) and deaths (77%) were in the vaccinated, and the biases and data manipulations weren’t appeasing the masses.

NSW covid Nov - Feb

So a quick switch to a new format was required and another version of an old trick — combining the “unknown” and “no dose” was put in place. Oh, and of course now we also need the UKHSA trick of qualifying the data with a long monologue of why it isn’t quite as bad as it looks (because obviously, you prole reader, you don’t know nuffin and we need to edoocate you).

NSW vaccine status table 4

I know, it’s embarrassing. But it gets better. Eventually, someone realised that combining the no dose and unknown groups was a fix, and demanded — by FOI (please let me know if you have the link to this) — that NSW Health provide the data by the actual number of doses received. And this is where the cover-up could be covered-up no more. This is what happened…

NSW covid tweet

So the hospitalisations and ICU admissions in the unvaccinated dropped to zero (and stayed there all through June, effectively). But wait, there are still a bunch of deaths in the unvaccinated group — how can this be?

We can answer this question by looking at the categorised data over time. So I pulled out every week’s data from these reports manually from 5 March 2022 to 25 June 2022.1 The separation of “no dose/not known” into “no dose” and “not known” took place on the 28th May. All of a sudden, nearly all the deaths that had been categorised in the joint category appeared in the “no dose” group. You can see it happening here.2

NSW vaccine status graph

So, we are expected to believe that even though the death rate of every single vaccination category (as a proportion of those hospitalised, irrespective of dose number or unknown status) was below 0.25% — all of a sudden after 28th May the “no dose” category had a death to hospitalisation ratio of 1 (note it was actually more than 1 because there were no hospitalisations in this category for most of June — see footnote).3 Here is another way to look at this amazingly coincidental data:

NSW vaccine status graph 2

You don’t need error bars or a degree in medical statistics to see that the “no dose after 28 May” is impossible. So what happened? The logical (and only) explanation is that the death data was manipulated. Either the deaths in the “no dose” category are totally fabricated, the last remaining unvaccinated old people are being killed off in nursing homes and not entering hospital, or more likely that the “no dose” and “unknown” numbers have been swapped. There is no other explanation for this incredible result.

NSW covid table 1

Either way, it’s a misrepresentation of the real data. So I have a question for NSW Health’s surveillance data curators (which include the infamous NCIRS)… If this vaccine is so great, why do you need to “fix” the data?

Don’t worry. I don’t expect an answer. The eight million people living in New South Wales might, though. Given that their taxes and sacrifices have paid your wages, I think they deserve one.

Oh, and while you’re at it, perhaps you could answer this really important question posed to Chief Medical Officer Kerry Chant: what caused 38-year-old Adriana Takara’s death?

UPDATE 1: It is worth noting that, not only did the mandatory medical interventions (MMIs) fail to stop the spread of the virus, they resulted in the largest spike in overall mortality in Australia’s peacetime history. Well done, Public Health.

And yes, I have excluded the “COVID-19 infections” from this graph because using “oh but we got another wave of the infection we told you our measures would stop and therefore it’s not our fault that 14,000 people died of things that were a direct consequence of our measures ” doesn’t cut it.

UPDATE 2: If you want to verify this data further, the whole repository of the NSW surveillance reports for 2021-2022 is archived here.

Studies Show Americans Were In Even Worse Health Than We Thought Going Into COVID

America wasn’t ready for a pandemic when the first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus landed on U.S. shores in January 2020, especially in terms of overall health.

The national stockpile of medical supplies was full of outdated and expired equipment. Early testing was a fiasco, and medical supply chains remained dependent on foreign sources all while lawmakers on Capitol Hill were preoccupied with their impeachment of President Donald Trump over a made-up scandal. Worst of all, however, was the state of the nation’s physical health to combat an inflammatory virus that would wipe out more than 1 million residents over the next two years.

A pair of studies published in recent weeks revealed just how vulnerable Americans were to a new disease that infected more than a third of a population, which already had such a low level of baseline health.

In late June, researchers at the American Heart Association found that just 1 in 5 U.S. residents has “optimal heart health” based on the association’s standards, which are mapped out by its “Life’s Essential 8” cardiovascular scoring.

The essential eight components of cardiovascular health as defined by the American Heart Association include “healthy diet, participation in physical activity, avoidance of nicotine, healthy sleep, healthy weight, and healthy levels of blood lipids, blood glucose, and blood pressure.”

Published in “Circulation,” the association’s flagship journal, the authors studied more than 23,400 adults and children through national health surveys from 2013 to 2018, offering a snapshot into the nation’s heart health over the years preceding the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Only about 20 percent of the population across age groups was found to have ideal cardiovascular health based on the association’s essential eight standards.

Another study from Tufts University published on Monday revealed even less: 1 in 7 U.S. adults enjoyed “good cardiometabolic health,” according to data dating up to 2018, just two years before the coronavirus pandemic.

University researchers studied five components of health of about 55,000 adults 20 years old and older from 1999 to 2018, including blood pressure levels, blood sugar, blood cholesterol, adiposity (overweight and obesity), and the presence or absence of cardiovascular disease such as a heart attack or stroke. The figures were drawn from the 10 most recent cycles of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, where the authors found severe declines in the nation’s health over nearly 20 years. While just 1 in 3 adults lived at an appropriate weight, that number declined to 1 in 4 by 2018. Adults with diabetes or prediabetes also climbed. In 1999, only 3 in 5 reported being free of the condition, but in 2018, only 4 in 10 said the same.

“These numbers are striking. It’s deeply problematic that in the United States, one of the wealthiest nations in the world, fewer than 1 in 15 adults have optimal cardiometabolic health,” said Meghan O’Hearn, a doctoral candidate and the study’s lead author, in a press release. “We need a complete overhaul of our healthcare system, food system, and built environment, because this is a crisis for everyone, not just one segment of the population.”

Dr. Tim Logemann, a specialist in cardiology and obesity in Wisconsin, agreed with O’Hearn’s analysis and highlighted the nation’s rising weight as a primary concern because it underlies nearly every major health issue plaguing the country.

“Everybody from big agriculture to big food to big medicine and of course big politics is all in on the gig of the fattening of America,” Logemann told The Federalist, emphasizing an urgent need for a “grassroots movement towards health” to reverse course.

“It’s not just going to get better because there’s just no reason for it to get better,” Logemann added. “Even health care systems make a lot of money on treating the complications of obesity. I don’t see any end in sight.”

According to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 42 percent of the entire country qualified as metabolically obese between 2017 and 2020, just before the coronavirus pandemic swept the nation. Nearly 77 percent of adults are considered, at minimum, overweight and are handing down bad habits to their children, nearly 20 percent of whom aged 2 to 19 are obese.

The nation’s obesity crisis is showing no signs of slowing down even as the consequences of excessive weight continue to accelerate. In 2021, diabetes deaths eclipsed a six-figure toll for the second year in a row. Obesity played a driving factor.

The number of states where more than a third of the population is considered obese jumped from 12 in 2019 to 16 in 2021, according to the CDC. Trends in obesity were only exacerbated by pandemic lockdowns, which incentivized sedentary lifestyles ostensibly to protect people from a virus that disproportionately killed Americans who were overweight.

The Decline Of The American Work Ethic Will Exacerbate The Oncoming Recession

The Atlanta Federal Reserve recently projected that second-quarter GDP fell by 1.9 percent. If its model proves correct, the U.S. economy has fallen into a recession with GDP shrinking for two consecutive quarters. Whether we are technically in a recession is far less important than the reality of the recession Americans have been experiencing for months. At this point, with ongoing historic inflation, Americans are also likely enduring stagflation.

The Biden administration’s bad economic policies bear much of the responsibility. So, the administration and congressional Democrats are trying to distract from the contracting economy and runaway prices by pointing to the supposedly strong labor market. They argue that the country is not in a recession as long as the unemployment rate stays low. As with so much, we’ve heard from this administration, it’s just not true.

On Friday, the Labor Department announced that the economy created 372,000 jobs in June and the unemployment rate held at 3.6 percent. President Biden has continually bragged about the supposed historic job creation under his watch taking credit for people returning to work following the pandemic.

Yet the labor market isn’t as rosy as the topline unemployment rate suggests. There are still over 500,000 fewer people working today than before the pandemic despite the V-shaped recovery Biden inherited from President Trump.

Yet, employers are desperate to hire. There are 11.3 million unfilled jobs nationwide. That’s nearly 2 jobs for every unemployed person. This obviously raises the question: why are fewer people working than was the case pre-pandemic?

Well, the answer is equally obvious. Not enough Americans are willing to work. The labor force participation rate remains well below its pre-pandemic standard. In fact, were labor participation today the same as when the pandemic began, the unemployment rate would be 5.5 percent. It’s only 3.6 percent because fewer people are working or actively looking for work.

Generous social welfare programs, expanded during the Covid-19 pandemic, help explain this labor market paradox.

During most of 2021, supplemental federal unemployment benefits and boosted child tax credits, distributed monthly, paid most entry-level workers more to stay home than return to work. A June 2021 study by economists at the Committee to Unleash prosperity found that a family of four with two parents out of work earned around $72,000 in unemployment benefits, more than the national median household income.

These programs have ended thanks to brave, primarily Republican, policymakers who recognized their unintended economic consequences. While these programs were necessary during the pandemic when state governments told people they could not work, their corrosive impact on the American work ethic remains. It’s hard to deny the reality that some Americans have clearly gotten used to not working and have chosen to live off the welfare that remains rather than return to the workforce.

This is not a criticism of people genuinely in need of government assistance. We are a rich nation. We should, and we do, help those in need. But the able-bodied should work both for society’s benefit and for their personal benefit, their dignity, and sense of self-worth. President Clinton and Newt Gingrich affirmed this notion when they imposed work requirements for welfare recipients to great effect in the late 1990s. It’s a simple notion – those who can work should.

Pandemic-era welfare enhancements still in place have aided the current disinclination to work ethic. For instance, Congress expanded food stamps and removed work requirements to receive them. The United States Department of Agriculture gave states “emergency allotments” of food stamps that have continued long after the pandemic emergency ended.

In October, the Biden administration implemented the largest permanent increase in food stamps in the program’s history. The average food stamp benefit is now nearly double what it was in 2019. Unsurprisingly, the number of households on food stamps has not meaningfully declined since the pandemic ended.

The public health emergency also allowed states to increase Medicaid enrollment by 20 percent and forbade them from removing residents from the program even though many likely no longer qualify. They cannot do so until the Biden administration declares an end to the public health emergency.

These welfare expansions are in addition to the smorgasbord of public benefits out-of-work Americans already receive, including unemployment insurance, housing vouchers, energy subsidies, childcare subsidies, and direct cash assistance. In addition, states offer their own social programs. Together, they amount to a government-dependency trap, disincentivizing work.

Employers across the country tell me that their employees routinely make the rational decision to drop out of the workforce entirely – or at least take a break from it – cushioned by this generous aid.

Again, we should help people who cannot help themselves as these programs do when properly distributed. But incentives matter and those who can work should.

Congress must immediately roll back this expanded welfare, reinstate associated work requirements, and reform longstanding programs to help the labor market reach and exceed its pre-pandemic peak – which would help reduce inflation as employers staff their businesses and replenish the supply chain allowing the economy to recover to everyone’s benefit.

However, public policy solutions may be insufficient if we delay taking action. Employers also tell me of a degraded work ethic among a large group of younger Americans today that transcends financial considerations. These workers are quick to quit at the first challenge they encounter. They are unwilling to put in the effort to learn and improve. And they regularly turn down shifts and even opportunities for overtime pay. If you think I’m being unnecessarily critical, go talk to a local employer.

Fully reestablishing the American work ethic is a long-term project. Unfortunately, the economic problems the country is facing are here and now. If our elected leaders are unwilling to acknowledge the problem, let alone address it, expect the recession to be deeper and longer as a result. If we do not restore the American work ethic, expect much worse.
