Cheney political dynasty about to get butts kicked by Trump in Wyoming

Evil-eyed neocon Dick Cheney plays the cowboy in a video attacking Donald Trump and defending his daughter Lizzie, pictured (below) in the public limelight of the January 6 show trial committee set up by the Democrats.

By TONY MOBILIFONITIS
“In our nation’s 246-year history there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our Republic than Donald Trump.” So says Dick Cheney, former Defense Secretary and Vice President under the late George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush, in a video clip he has paid to air on the Fox network.

More than that, Cheney has aligned himself with the election rigging Democratic machine as has his daughter Liz. “He (Trump) tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters rejected him. He’s a coward. A real man wouldn’t lie to his supporters.”

Again, this from Dick Cheney, the very Defense Secretary and Vice President who lied about Saddam Hussein’s so-called weapons of mass destruction and destroyed an entire nation so it could be rebuilt by the very companies he and his cronies were invested in.

Cheney had earlier directed the Operation Desert Storm in Iraqi, an operation based on a big lie spread by PR company Hill & Knowlton that Saddam Hussein’s soldiers had pulled the plug on babies in incubators in Kuwait. Cheney was also a champion of waterboarding torture for terrorism suspects. He was known by his opponents as Darth Vader and the Prince of Darkness.

This same man was also involved in the notorious “Project for the New American Century”, the blueprint for American economic and military domination of the planet and a Middle East invasion that required “a new Pearl Harbor” event to justify it. And hey presto, along came the 9-11, 2001 inside jobs on the World Trade Centre and Pentagon. Cheney was a very busy man that day.

Dick Cheney is the face of American neoconservatism – the America that runs on endless wars and military and commercial domination of the planet. It’s globalism without the kumbaya, hold-hands-across-the-universe, United Nations sentiment. It’s fascist-style globalism i.e. a combine of global corporate and government military power. Trump openly opposes such a policy.

Cheney was rightfully labelled a warmonger and that was just part of the landscape of being CEO of the weapons and oil contractor Halliburton. He was still on their payroll despite “leaving” the company to take on the office of Vice President of the US. Conflict of interest? Hell no, not for our butt-kicking tough guy Dick.

While Bush’s Vice President, Dick the trigger-happy hunter shot Texas lawyer Harry Whittington in the face, neck and chest during a quail hunting trip. They tried to cover up the incident and Cheney never apologized, but according to some reports Whittington actually apologized to Cheney for causing him such embarrassment.

Dick and backroom federal power politics go back to the Gerald Ford administration when he was the president’s chief of staff. Before that he spent some time at Yale but didn’t graduate. But Yale, being the location of the notorious Skull and Bones fraternity/brotherhood/lodge, is probably where Dicky boy did “graduate”. Interestingly, Cheney found special favour with two of the Bonesmen’s most notable graduates, the Bush senior and junior presidents.

Before her election to Congress on Trump’s coat tails in 2017, Liz already had all the right connections. She was Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs and Coordinator for Broader Middle East and North Africa Initiatives at the US State Department during the George W. Bush administration. Naturally, just like daddy, she promoted regime change in Iran while chairing the Iran Syria Policy and Operations Group with Elliott Abrams.

So, the Cheney family had every reason to consider themselves especially privileged in the political and corporate world and little Lizzie went into Congress as the “power woman” ready to kick ass just like daddy did. She quickly rose up the ranks to chair, just like daddy did, the House Republican Conference, the No.3 position in the House Republican leadership, from 2019 to 2021.

But Lizzie was beginning to fall out of favour with Trump supporters for openly opposing Trump’s foreign policy. Then in 2021 she voted with the Democrats and a group of treacherous neocon Republicans to impeach Trump a second time over the January 6th Capitol riot. Cheney was removed from her prominent party position. So how dare these upstart Trump Republicans remove a Cheney from a position of privilege and power!

Liz became the Republican Trump enemy No.1 and was subsequently invited by Nancy Pelosi to join her January 6 witch-hunt committee, set up with the objective of publicly shaming a legally harassing Trump and his supporters over the provocateur-incited January 6th riot at the Capitol.

Despite her pouting, Ms Liz has become the “star” of the January 6 show trial, with almost daily adulation from the mainstream media for her “non partisan, self-sacrificing dedication to uncovering the truth about January 6th”. Like her Democrat committee buddies, she has used the publicity to raise $13 million for her political campaign, which is already a lost cause.

Liz clearly suffered a major blow to her ego, being removed from the Republican leadership. No doubt daddy Dick felt the rejection too. She became like the jilted woman, hellbent on revenge. Her prospects of winning back her Wyoming Congressional seat are also zero, so she has been forced to seek the Democrat votes in a state that voted 70% for Trump.

Liz also offered her 2 cents worth on the Mar a Lago raid on Trump by the FBI: “America cannot remain free if we abandon the truth. The lie that the 2020 presidential election was stolen is insidious,” she said. “It preys on those who love their country. It is a door Donald Trump opened to manipulate Americans to abandon their principles, to sacrifice their freedom, to justify violence, to ignore the rulings of our courts and the rule of law.”

The reality is that Trump opened a door exposing the corrupt Cheney neocon underbelly of the Republican Party – the “conservative” side of the deep state with its love affair with “special interests” and dark forces inhabiting the halls of influence and power.

This explains the Cheney family’s hatred for Trump and everything he stands for. To call Trump the greatest ever threat to the American republic in its entire history is a crazy, irrational accusation. But with Liz Cheney about to lose her Wyoming seat, the House of Cheney will be dealt a death blow by the global populist/nationalist revolution.

Trump Refuses To Answer NY AG’s Questions At Deposition [Video]

Trump Refuses To Answer NY AG’s Questions At Deposition

ZH

Former President Trump on Wednesday announced that he would not be answering questions in his court-ordered deposition in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ three-year probe of his organization.

After arriving just before 9 a.m. at the AG’s NYC headquarters, Trump released a statement which reads in part: “accordingly, under the advice of my counsel and for all of the above reasons, I declined to answer the questions under the rights and privileges afforded to every citizen under the United States Constitution.

“I did nothing wrong, which is why, after five years of looking, the Federal, State and local governments, together with the Fake News Media, have found nothing,” the statement continues. “We cannot permit a renegade and out-of-control prosecutor to use this investigation as a means of advancing her political career.”

I once asked, ‘If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?” Now I know the answer to that question,” the statement continues.

Shortly before Trump’s deposition, he posted this to Rumble:

James had insisted that Trump be deposed in person, Insider reports, after her office issued its original subpoena in December while investigating whether the Trump Organization misstated the value of various properties on financial documents – which James alleges were then used to obtain tax breaks and bank loans.

James’ office is considering whether to file a civil suit against Trump, claiming in court filings that they have “uncovered substantial evidence establishing numerous misrepresentations” regarding Trump’s financial statements to banks, insurers and the IRS.

Trump’s legal team fought the December subpoena for more than six months – losing in both the State Supreme Court and in a Manhattan appeals court – after which the Trumps (Trump, Trump Jr., and Ivanka Trump) agreed to sit for depositions – which were delayed by the death of Ivanna Trump on July 14. Both Trump Jr. and Ivanka sat for depositions last week.

Trump’s refusal comes two days after the FBI raided his Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida – reportedly to find boxes of materials that the former president may have removed from the White House upon leaving office.

Trump’s statement can be read below:

The Time To Hold Corrupt Bureaucrats Like Christopher Wray Accountable Is Before They Are Even Confirmed

Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee agree that FBI Director Christopher Wray needs to be better at his job, but their attempts to rein in the incompetence and scandal plaguing a multitude of federal agencies, including intelligence agencies, just aren’t cutting it.

Several Republicans have signaled they plan to investigate corrupt and partisan bureaucrats such as Dr. Anthony Fauci and Wray if they win back Congress in the November midterms. For now, while Democrats control the White House and the legislative branch, the GOP has resorted to letters and the occasional “oversight hearing” that accomplishes little..

If Republicans’ failure to hold bureaucrats accountable via letter-writing campaigns wasn’t apparent before, it was after an oversight hearing on Thursday when, instead of taking responsibility for any of his agency’s failures including the botched Larry Nassar investigation, a Hunter Biden investigation cover-up, and the slow response to pro-abortion attacks across the nation, Wray repeatedly refused to answer questions about the FBI’s track record of lying in ways that affect national election outcomes.

As a matter of fact, he doubled down and refused to condemn the Russia collusion hoax that his agency proudly spun for years.

During the hearing, multiple GOP senators expressed doubts that the FBI under Wray has fairly enforced the rule of law in the United States. Some even suggested it’s time for Wray to clean house. Yet most of those same senators were the ones who voted to confirm Wray as FBI head in 2017.

While it may have been difficult for senators to get an accurate read on Wray following his nomination thanks to a Russian collusion hoax media firestorm, there was at least one sign that senators, especially Republicans concerned about corruption, should have noted before voting to hand Wray control of the nation’s primary domestic intelligence agency based on former President Donald Trump’s recommendation.

Wray had a positive relationship with former FBI Director James Comey, who was fired for being a sloppy bureaucrat who investigated the incoming president based on fraudulent reporting by Christopher Steele. From 2003 to 2005, Wray worked at the Department of Justice as assistant attorney general under Comey, who was at the DOJ as deputy attorney general.

In the end, only five senators, all Democrats, voted against Wray’s confirmation.

It didn’t take long after that for Republicans to realize their support for Wray was a mistake. By 2019, Trump expressed doubt that Wray “will never be able to fix the FBI,” but some Senate Republicans still came to Wray’s defense.

The FBI and dozens of other federal agencies are rife with problems and internal chaos that is only exacerbated by the people in charge. If Republicans did a better job of vetting corrupt and incompetent bureaucrats before rubber-stamping them, or of making it possible to fire such bureaucrats instead of writing them letters after they are already in untouchable leadership positions, Americans might finally believe promises of “accountability.”

The GOP claims to be frustrated with bureaucrats such as Wray for failing, but that hasn’t stopped them from rubber-stamping extremist nominees such as Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. Or voting with Democrats to funnel even more money to corrupt agencies like the FBI.

Poor personnel choices were Trump’s self-inflicted Achilles heel. As my Federalist colleague Eddie noted, that’s why the hint of a “swamp shakedown” if Trump runs again and wins a second term is so appealing to Americans desperate for trustworthy institutions.

Trump, however, is not promised office again. That is why the blame for the FBI and every other agency’s unchecked power rests solely on Republicans who willfully vote to confirm radical, corrupt bureaucrats who stay in charge for decades.

Without good discernment about the types of people this nation requires to be healthy, functional, and give fair and equal treatment to all, the checks and balances that the Founding Fathers designed to hold our nation together will be no more. If Republicans repeatedly refuse to vet and vote against radical nominees, the possibility of true accountability is eliminated and our institutions will become even more corrupt.

“Time For Trump To Hang Up His Hat” Says Musk [Video]

“Time For Trump To Hang Up His Hat” Says Musk

Musk: DeSantis 2024

Post by Tyler Durden | Written by Gary Bai via The Epoch Times

Elon Musk has taken to Twitter after former U.S. President Donald Trump criticized the Tesla CEO at a rally over the weekend.

Trump called Musk “another bull—t artist,” saying that Musk had once told him privately he had won Musk’s vote in 2016, which would conflict with Musk’s public statement in mid-June about having just voted Republican for the first time in the midterm primaries.

“You know what he said the other day? ‘Oh, I’ve never voted for a Republican,’” Trump said to a full house at the Alaska Airlines Center on Saturday. “I said, ‘I didn’t know that.’ He told me he voted for me. So he’s another bull—t artist.”

[Musk replied “Not true” to Trump’s claim]

Trump made the comments as a side-note while talking about Musk’s recent decision to not acquire Twitter, which is pending a showdown in.

“I don’t hate the man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat & sail into the sunset,” Musk wrote on Monday night in response to a video of Trump’s comments. “[Democrats] should also call off the attack—don’t make it so that Trump’s only way to survive is to regain the Presidency.

Trump-DeSantis Ticket

On the same night, Musk shared his thoughts about a potential Trump-DeSantis ticket in 2024.

Trump would be 82 at end of term, which is too old to be chief executive of anything, let alone the United States of America,” Musk wrote in another post, replying to a suggestion from another Twitter user about a potential Trump-DeSantis run in 2024 and two terms of DeSantis presidency in 2028 and 2032.

But on a potential DeSantis 2024 run, Musk echoed his earlier comments that he would lean towards supporting the Florida governor.

If DeSantis runs against Biden in 2024, then DeSantis will easily win—he doesn’t even need to campaign.” the billionaire said.

Musk’s Monday comments continue a series of high-profile political statements the billionaire has made in 2022, which included describing the Democratic Party as the party of “division & hate” and identifying himself as a part of a “massive red wave in 2022” by revealing his vote for Republican candidate Mayra Flores (R-Texas).

Trump: ‘I Think I Would Win’

While Trump has not explicitly announced his intention to run for commander-in-chief in 2024, he has teased it enough for spectators—including Musk—to consider it a serious prospect.

I ran twice, I won twice … And now with the approval of the great people of Alaska, we may have to do it again,” Trump said over the weekend in Alaska, claiming that he received “many millions more votes” in 2020 than he did in 2016 when he defeated Hillary Clinton.

When asked about how well he would perform against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in a presidential race, the former president was confident.

I don’t know if Ron is running, and I don’t ask him. It’s his prerogative … I think I would win.” Trump told The New Yorker in June. He told Newsmax later in the month that he would not rule out DeSantis as a running mate while saying that he “was very responsible for [DeSantis’s] success.”

Meanwhile, Republican figures have been positive that Trump’s political influence in the GOP is nothing close to insignificant.

“I don’t delude myself into thinking I have a big swath of the Republican Party,” Trump critic Mitt Romney (R-Utah) told Politico in May about his thoughts on Trump. “It’s hard to imagine anything that would derail his support.”

Truth Social Doesn’t Just Want To Distinguish Itself From Tech Giants, It Wants To Rival Them

Truth Social is expanding its features to maintain a competitive edge in the Big Tech-dominated social media world. It’s already set itself apart as a platform that won’t target users with politically-motivated censorship, and now it is implementing a series of updates designed to further the app’s marketability to creators and scrollers alike.

Part of that goal includes an upgrade that rolls out Thursday morning and includes new profile carousels that curate a personalized list of accounts based on engagement and boosts creators, some of whom might have been nuked by Twitter, Facebook, or other Big Tech companies.

“We want people coming to our platform and then going to other people’s platforms. We see ourselves as the rising tide that lifts all the boats,” Devin Nunes, former U.S. representative and now CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group, which oversees Truth Social, told The Federalist. “The people who have been canceled and the people who have important things to say, we’re not trying to trap you there.”

With longer videos, polls, GIFs, pinned posts, and more, Truth Social is creating a platform that is supposed to be “so much easier to navigate” and “very simple, very intuitive” but one that “drives people back to you” or your business.

“You go over there and post something and you’re likely being, to some degree, shadow banned by the algorithm that they use because you’re not being curated into one’s feed. And then there’s just a limited number of people on there, especially not your average conservative,” Nunes said.

While Twitter and Facebook have become echo chambers for elites instead of a true public forum for “normal people,” Nunes said Truth Social is focused on becoming “a big place to go to” for anyone who doesn’t want their impressions stolen by Big Tech companies.

“We’re giving a voice to people who are awesome content creators who really never had a chance. Besides, just between our meme makers and some of our funny guys, they’re getting a lot more impressions and visits than they would ever get somewhere else,” Nunes said.

Not only does Nunes think Truth Social has a leg up on “bot farms” such as Twitter due to its newness, but he said out-of-touch Big Tech sites are becoming increasingly irrelevant to large swaths of the country.

“We couldn’t care less about Twitter. Most Americans are not on it. They know it’s a bird and they see it on TV, and all the celeb types run their mouths, and news media picks it up. But average Americans are not on that platform,” Nunes said. “…There are not normal people on Twitter.”

According to Nunes, Truth Social isn’t just an experiment, it’s a safe haven for speech.

“President Trump didn’t need a new company, and I didn’t need a new job,” Nunes concluded. “We have a very simple mission. We’re opening up the internet by giving the American people their voice back. I don’t think the democratic republic survives without people being able to do basic communications with each other through the internet. And that’s why I left [Congress] and that’s what we’re trying to build here.”

Divider-in-Chief: Is Biden Channelling Trump?

Contrary to his original aspirations, Biden is leaning into partisan politics.

One of the media’s beloved titles for President Donald Trump was ‘Divider-in-Chief’. Well-deserved at times, the moniker was even used of Trump by his challenger — now successor — President Joe Biden.

Indeed, Trump’s impulse to divide and denigrate was the deciding factor that many Americans could not vote for him. Others gave him their confidence but did so holding their nose for this very same character flaw.

On winning the White House, Biden used his first address to the nation to promise that he would be “a president who seeks not to divide, but to unify”.

At that November 2020 speech, Biden explained: “To make progress, we have to stop treating our opponents as our enemies. They are not our enemies. They are Americans.” He went on to vow that he would “work with all my heart for the confidence of the whole people, to win the confidence of all people.”

Broken promises

Less than 18 months into his presidency, however, Biden has cast serious doubt on the gravity of those promises and his ability to live up to them. Biden’s growing habit of using divisive rhetoric, mendacious cliches, and cheap mischaracterisations against his political opponents forces us to ask whether he is channelling Trump and now deserves the ‘Divider-in-Chief’ label himself.

A recent Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research survey found that only 16% of respondents believe that Biden has united the nation, while 43% believe that he is responsible for ushering in more division. Biden’s approval rating more generally has been in free-fall for well over a year.

Following the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v Wade, Biden not only called the decision ‘tragic’, ‘terrible’ and ‘extreme’, he also labelled the court itself extremist. “I share the public’s outrage at this extremist court,” he told cameras this week.

Less than two months ago, speaking on the same topic before the court’s ruling, Biden sensationally told reporters that “this MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organisation that’s existed in American history.” Has he heard of the Ku Klux Klan? The Nation of Islam? Al-Qaeda? Antifa?

Back in January, Biden likened anyone who opposed Democrat-let efforts to overhaul the US electoral system to historical villains like Confederate President Jefferson Davis.

“So I ask every elected official in America, how do you want to be remembered?” Biden bellowed during a speech at Atlanta University. “Do you want to be on the side of Dr. King or George Wallace? Do you want to be on the side of John Lewis or Bull Connor? Do you want to be on the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis?”

Hardly bipartisan, the two pieces of legislation in question — the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act — have been fiercely opposed by Republicans over fears they will strip states of their constitutional right to dictate how they conduct elections.

Stoking fear

A month earlier, in December 2020, Biden scapegoated unvaccinated Americans in a doomsday message about an expected Covid surge over winter.

“It’s here now, and it’s spreading, and it’s going to increase… We are looking at a winter of severe illness and death for the unvaccinated — for themselves, their families and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm,” Biden warned in a prophecy that failed to materialise.

And as pervasively reported at MercatorNet:

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security has issued a “National Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin”, suggesting that if a citizen opposes mask and vaccine mandates, they may be a “domestic violent extremist”.

And:

In the latter half of 2021, after a series of heated exchanges between school boards and parents upset over radical left-wing ideology in schools, the National School Boards Association sought White House intervention via a letter that characterised parents as potential “domestic terrorists”. Evidence later emerged that the White House itself may have solicited the letter.

The examples continue to multiply. The Divided States of America need a unifier. Is it too much to ask?

SCOTUS Delivers Blow to ‘Remain in Mexico,’ But Court Battle Continues

The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) ruled that President Joe Biden’s administration can end the Migration Protection Protocols (MPP), commonly known as the “Remain in Mexico” program, but is sending a key part of the case back to a lower court.

In a 5-4 decision, SCOTUS ruled that the Biden administration did not violate the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) when it sought to end the Remain in Mexico program, which was first imposed by former President Trump’s administration.

The Remain in Mexico program allows the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to quickly return border crossers to Mexico while they await their asylum and immigration hearings in the United States — effectively eliminating the practice commonly known as “Catch and Release.”

A district court and a court of appeals had both previously held that the Biden administration violated the INA when it sought to end Remain in Mexico. The district court also held that the administration violated the Administrative Procedure Act (APA).

Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the Court’s opinion, joined by Justices Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Brett Kavanaugh. Justice Kavanaugh also wrote a concurring opinion.

Justice Samuel Alito filed a dissenting opinion, joined by Justices Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch. Justice Amy Coney Barrett filed a dissenting opinion that Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch joined except for one sentence.

The Court’s opinion reads in part:

As we recently held in Garland v. Aleman Gonzalez, 596 U. S. ___ (2022), section 1252(f )(1) “generally prohibits lower courts from entering injunctions that order federal officials to take or to refrain from taking actions to enforce, implement, or otherwise carry out the specified statutory provisions.” [Emphasis added]

The District Court’s injunction in this case violated that provision. [Emphasis added]

We now turn to the merits. Section 1225(b)(2)(C) provides: “In the case of an alien . . . who is arriving on land . . . from a foreign territory contiguous to the United States, the [Secretary] may return the alien to that territory pending a proceeding under section 1229a.” Section 1225(b)(2)(C) plainly confers a discretionary authority to return aliens to Mexico during the pendency of their immigration proceedings. This Court has “repeatedly observed” that “the word ‘may’ clearly connotes discretion.” [Emphasis added]

The use of the word “may” in section 1225(b)(2)(C) thus makes clear that contiguous-territory return is a tool that the Secretary “has the authority, but not the duty,” to use. [Emphasis added]

For the reasons explained, the Government’s rescission of MPP did not violate section 1225 of the INA, and the October 29 Memoranda did constitute final agency action. We therefore reverse the judgment of the Court of Appeals and remand the case for further proceedings consistent with this opinion. On remand, the District Court should consider in the first instance whether the October 29 Memoranda comply with section 706 of the APA. [Emphasis added]

The ruling means that SCOTUS holds that the district court did not have jurisdiction to previously stop the Biden administration from ending Remain in Mexico but also left open the possibility that the court does have the power to vacate the administration’s ending of the program.

In that regard, the case will be sent back to the district court for another hearing.

In his dissent, Justice Alito wrote:

In fiscal year 2021, the Border Patrol reported more than 1.7 million encounters with aliens along the Mexican border. When it appears that one of these aliens is not admissible, may the Government simply release the alien in this country and hope that the alien will show up for the hearing at which his or her entitlement to remain will be decided? [Emphasis added]

Congress has provided a clear answer to that question, and the answer is no. By law, if an alien is “not clearly and beyond a doubt entitled to be admitted,” the alien “shall be detained for a [removal] proceeding.” [Emphasis added]

And if an alien asserts a credible fear of persecution, he or she “shall be detained for further consideration of the application for asylum,” §1225(b)(1)(B)(ii) (emphasis added). Those requirements, as we have held, are mandatory. [Emphasis added]

Congress offered the Executive two—and only two—alternatives to detention. First, if an alien is “arriving on land” from “a foreign territory contiguous to the United States,” the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) “may return the alien to that territory pending a [removal] proceeding.” Second, DHS may release individual aliens on “parole,” but “only on a case-by-case basis for urgent humanitarian reasons or a significant public benefit.” [Emphasis added]

Due to the huge numbers of aliens who attempt to enter illegally from Mexico, DHS does not have the capacity to detain all inadmissible aliens encountered at the border, and no one suggests that DHS must do the impossible. But rather than avail itself of Congress’s clear statutory alternative to return inadmissible aliens to Mexico while they await proceedings in this country, DHS has concluded that it may forgo that option altogether and instead simply release into this country untold numbers of aliens who are very likely to be removed if they show up for their removal hearings. This practice violates the clear terms of the law, but the Court looks the other way.
[Emphasis added]

I agree with the majority that the injunction entered by the District Court in this case exceeded its “jurisdiction or authority to enjoin or restrain the operation of ” the relevant statutes. [Emphasis added]

The ruling ensures that the case is not over and will go back to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. The lower courts could help restore Remain in Mexico and could make the case a critical issue in 2024, as it could end up before SCOTUS again.

Alito wrote in his dissent:

The District Court should assess, among other things, whether it is “arbitrary and capricious” for DHS to refuse to use its contiguous-territory return authority to avoid violations of the statute’s clear detention mandate; whether the deterrent effect that DHS found MPP produced in reducing dangerous attempted illegal border crossings, as well as MPP’s reduction of unmeritorious asylum claims, is adequately accounted for in the agency’s new decision; and whether DHS’s rescission of MPP is causing it to make parole decisions on an unlawful categorical basis rather than case-by-case, as the statute prescribes. [Emphasis added]

If the Fifth Circuit appeals court affirms such an order from the district court, then Remain in Mexico would remain in force at least until SCOTUS decides to hear an appeal for that decision, making it possible that any such final decision from SCOTUS would not come down until the first half of 2024, in the middle of the next presidential campaign.

If the district court finds the Biden administration’s ending Remain in Mexico to be arbitrary and capricious on the issues raised by Alito, the program will be reinstated. If that occurs before July 31, the program might even never be terminated, remaining in force while the Justice Department appeals to the Fifth Circuit appeals court.

Depending on the timing of the appellate court’s decision, all of this might put the case back on track to be heard by SCOTUS in the fall of 2023, with a decision coming down in the first six months of 2024. The November 2024 presidential election will then take place, and depending on the incoming administration in January 2025, Remain in Mexico could be reimplemented for the entirety of this time except for roughly six months between the 2024 SCOTUS decision and a new president taking the helm.

The case is Biden v. TexasNo. 21–954 in the Supreme Court of the United States.

Claim Trump “Lunged” For Steering Wheel on January 6 Discredited by Secret Service

Claim Trump “Lunged” For Steering Wheel on January 6 Discredited by Secret Service

“Bullsh*t” – Committee’s credibility suffers another massive blow.

Paul Joseph Watson

The January 6 Committee’s credibility has plummeted after claims by former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson that President Trump “lunged” for the steering wheel of his vehicle and demanded to be taken to the site of the riots were contradicted by the lead Secret Service agent.

Hutchinson testified that Tony Ornato, the then-White House deputy chief of staff, told her that Trump said something like, “I’m the f-ing president, take me up to the Capitol now,” and had “reached up towards the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel” before then using “his free hand to lunge towards Bobby Engel,” the the presidential driver.

Despite the legacy media breathlessly reporting Hutchinson’s claims without much skepticism, the term ‘Amber Heard 2.0’ subsequently trended on Twitter as Hutchinson’s assertions were demolished.

Within hours, Peter Alexander of NBC News revealed that Engel was prepared to testify “under oath that neither man was assaulted and that Mr. Trump never lunged for the steering wheel.”

Trump himself also asserted that the incident never happened.

null

Secret Service sources also reporter Julio Rosas that the story is “bullshit.”

Hutchinson appears to be pursuing a personal vendetta against Trump because he “personally turned her request down” when she tried to get a job at Mar-a-Lago.

Hutchinson also apparently told another outright lie during her testimony when she claimed she had written a note of a statement for Trump to release on January 6.

The note was actually penned by Former Trump White House lawyer Eric Herschmann.

“The handwritten note that Cassidy Hutchinson testified was written by her was in fact written by Eric Herschmann on January 6, 2021,” a spokesperson for Herschmann told ABC News Tuesday evening.

It remains to be seen whether Hutchinson will face any consequences for apparently lying under oath, although the already dubious credibility of the January 6 Committee has taken a further massive blow.

“The January 6 committee clowned itself,” summarized Tim Young.

The SCOTUS Abortion Decision: Courage and Clarity

What a momentous decision this was, a win for democracy and humanity. The SCOTUS judges responsible for overturning Roe v Wade are to be commended for their courage and clear legal thinking. While the pro-abortion Left threatens further violence, we must begin to rebuild the culture of life.

June 24, 2022 will go down in American history as Independence Day — freedom for Americans, at least for the unborn. After some 60 to 70 million American unborn babies were killed since Roe v Wade was passed in 1973, now we have the very real hope that far fewer babies will be killed in this way. That is terrific news. Let me say a bit more about this groundbreaking decision.

Restoring Democracy

First, as to the actual decision, the full title is this: Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. This had to do with an abortion provider challenging the state of Mississippi’s 2018 law that banned abortion after 15 weeks (with some exceptions). Thomas Dobbs is the state health officer.

What the June 24 Dobbs decision did was uphold the Mississippi law, and declared that there is no constitutional right to abortion, thus overturning two previous SCOTUS decisions: the 1973 Roe v. Wade case and the 1992 Planned Parenthood v. Casey case. You can read the entire decision here.

As I stated in yesterday’s piece, Dobbs simply returned things to the way they always were: the citizens of 50 US states — through their elected representatives — will decide how abortion is done in each state. No longer will a handful of unelected justices make those decisions for the American people.

This is, in other words, all about democracy in action — quite the opposite of what the raving pro-aborts are saying, claiming it is an assault on democracy. Lefties are even saying this is a “rigged” court! Translation: If the conservatives win in a ruling, it is rigged. If the lefties win in a ruling, it is democracy in action. Abortion policy is now going to be determined by the American people as it should be, especially given that this is all about important life and death decisions.

Composition of the Court

And let me clarify some confusion as to the decision. Some media reports yesterday spoke of a 6-3 decision, while others spoke of a 5-4 decision. So which is it? Well, it was sort of a 5-1-3 decision. Those in the majority were Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett. Trump of course appointed the last three judges.

Those in the minority — and who wrote a dissenting opinion — were Stephen Breyer, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor. John Roberts in fact wrote a separate concurring opinion in which he basically agreed with the majority but argued for “a more measured course.”

Speaking of who voted how, we can of course dismiss the foolish claim made by the radicals and pro-aborts that a bunch of old white men make these abortion decisions. Um, while none of the justices are spring chickens (Amy Coney Barrett is the youngest at age 50), we had both a Black (Thomas) and a woman (Coney Barrett) voting to overturn Roe. And if the fems do not like men voting on such matters, will they dismiss the vote of Breyer who voted their way?

Courage

Given all the hate the conservative justices have been getting over the past month or two, including the attempted murder of Justice Kavanaugh at his own home, this was a very courageous decision indeed. Robert P. George put it this way:

Please take a moment to appreciate the courage of the justices who today overturned Roe v Wade. In doing what they did, they took their lives into their hands. Each knew that for the rest of his or her life he or she will have a target on his or her back. They and their families have witnessed the ugly scenes in front of their homes. They’ve heard the abusive chants.

They know that an armed man came to the home of Justice Kavanaugh intending to murder him. Life for the justices will never return to normal. There is no going back. The campaign of intimidation against them failed, but they will never again be safe. They know that. They knew it when they decided the case and authorized the release of the decision. It took guts.

With the pro-aborts taking to the streets and threatening even more violence and bloodshed, all pro-lifers will need the same sort of courage. Indeed, this is not just flesh and blood we battle against, but the very forces of spiritual darkness.

Insane Fury

The ironic thing is this: the biggest and baddest protests right now are in leftist states like New York, Illinois and California, where abortion will never be made illegal any time soon. Moreover, a majority of Americans prefer a ban on abortion after 15 weeks. So we have already seen some states move towards life.

Bans on abortion went ahead after the decision in states such as Oklahoma, South Dakota, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Missouri. Around a dozen US states had such ‘trigger laws’ in place, awaiting the SCOTUS decision. And places like South Dakota are putting the penalties for violating the new laws on doctors providing the abortions, NOT on the women seeking to get them.

But the pro-aborts are enraged nonetheless. Just imagine people being so irate and demonised that they are happy to riot and tear our cities down all because it will be easier and safer for babies to be born. What sort of people think and act this way? And even more bizarre, most of these angry protesters just a month ago could not tell you what a woman is!

Hypocrites

Not only should we not listen to these people, but we should also ignore them, since for the past two years they were insisting that you had to have foreign substances jabbed into your body against your will. Their mantra, “My body my choice,” is simply bogus.

And our leaders have been just as bad, be they Biden, Macron, Johnson, Ardern and others. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said American women can come to Canada to kill their babies. He actually said we must respect “bodily autonomy”. Um, this is the same miscreant who jailed people who demanded bodily autonomy over the past two years.

It is also quite amazing to hear all the angry pro-aborts whining: ‘What about poor people?’ What about them? Does being poor give you a right to kill babies? Besides, poor folks will be able to kill babies now just as easily as they could during the past 50 years. As my friend Mark Rabich put it:

“‘Do not murder’ is not qualified by economic status or the availability of free stuff. Some people don’t realise they openly broadcast their selfishness. Sex is not a licence to murder.”

One final thought: none of this would have happened were it not for Donald Trump becoming the 45th President of the USA. His appointment of three pro-life justices (and hundreds of conservative lower court judges) made all the difference. With Roe aborted, Trump will go down in history as America’s most pro-life President. “God made the decision” is what Trump said when asked if he played a role in the decision with his three conservative SCOTUS appointees.

Where To Now?

As I said in my previous piece, the war is definitely not over. We may have won an important battle, but the fight for life continues. The other side will NOT just roll over and play dead. They will intensify their pro-death crusade, including even more violence and hatred in the public arena. So we must keep on standing up for life.

And as George Grant put it in a recent piece, we must keep standing up for the Gospel as well:

The primary conflict in temporal history always has been and always will be the struggle for life by the church against the natural inclinations of all men everywhere. This was the case long before Roe and it will be long after, for as long as the Lord tarries.

So after Roe, what’s our job now? It is the same as always: we must be gospel advocates of all that is right and good and true. We must care for the poor, the hurting, and the marginalized. We must speak the truth in love. We must remind our magistrates of their responsibilities. We must disciple. We must be unflinching in the proclamation of the good news, which changes everything. Our intercessions and labors must be unceasing.

Our local crisis pregnancy centers need our support like never before. Our pulpits need to ring out with practical, pastoral, and prophetic urgency like never before. And we need to remember God’s glorious promise like never before:

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:19)

Two concluding quotes from pro-life Christians can be shared here: Eric Metaxas said this:

“UNCONSTITUTIONAL ROE IS OVERTURNED! Praise the Lord!!! Anyone who thinks prayer doesn’t work — or that America’s best days are over — needs to think again.”

And pro-life activist Scott Klusendorf said:

“Tomorrow: If your church says absolutely nothing about the monumental striking of Roe and Casey, you are most likely in a church that cares little about applying biblical ethics and a biblical worldview to its Christian witness.”

Quite so. In fact, if you belong to a church that is silent on this issue, or worse yet, is condemning the Dobbs decision, you clearly are in the wrong church. You need to get out now. Life really is that important.

Trump: ‘God Made the Decision’

Donald Trump was instrumental in placing judges on the Supreme Court who acted on the fact that Roe vs. Wade was based on bad legal reasoning. Yet, he gives all credit to God for the astounding developments last Friday.

The unconstitutional decision of Roe vs. Wade has now been consigned to the dustbin of history. But not before over 60 million children have been aborted. And that’s just in the United States alone.

Significantly, when Donald Trump was asked if he thought he played a role in the legislation’s reversal — especially after having appointed three conservative justices to the high court — the former president is reported to have told Fox News:

“God made the decision.”

It wasn’t that long ago when in the midst of a violent demonstration, President Trump stood outside St John’s Church in Washington — historically referred to as ‘The President’s Church’ — holding a Bible and denouncing the actions of the protestors. Many evangelical Christians even declared how ‘offended’ they were at such actions.

Forked Tongue

Well, approximately two years later, here we are witnessing Joe Biden, a self-confessed Roman Catholic, saying that he’s going to do everything in his power to enshrine the right of a woman to be able to kill her unborn child. Whether she needs to access the abortive drugs through the mail, or travel interstate to do so. According to Joe Biden, being able to have an abortion is a woman’s constitutional right.

And yet, what is the response? Outrage at the blatant religious hypocrisy of someone who claims to belong to the Church? Indignation at the undermining of basic Biblical ethics? Possibly even being offended at not properly representing all people of faith? Maybe even a social media campaign complete with the hashtag #NotMyPresident?

Well, at least now everyone seems to be able to agree — without doing a degree in biology — on the definition as to what a ‘woman’ is! But that sound you’re hearing right now is the chirping of crickets. Because self-appointed cultural watchdogs are now noticeably silent.

Just in case you might have missed it — and you’re not sure what his unequivocal support of abortion looks like — President Biden said to the media:

Make no mistake, this decision is a culmination of a deliberate effort, over decades, to upset balance of our law.

It’s a realisation of an extreme ideology and tragic error of the Supreme Court in my view…

It’s a sad day for the country in my view. But it doesn’t mean that the fight’s over.

Let me be very clear and unambiguous. The only way we can secure a woman’s right to choose — and the balance that existed — is for Congress to restore the protections of Roe vs.     Wade as federal law. No executive action from the President can do that.

And if Congress, as it appears, lacks the votes to do that now, voters need to make their voices heard. This Fall you must elect more senators and representatives who will codify into law a woman’s right to choose into Federal law…

This Fall, Roe is on the ballot. Personal freedoms are on the ballot. The right to privacy, liberty and equality. They’re all on the ballot.

Until then I will do all in my power to protect a woman’s right in states who will face the consequences of today’s decision.

Cowardly Watchmen

One of the passages I was scheduled to read in my yearly Bible reading plan — I follow the one by Robert Murray McCheyne — is Isaiah 56 and 57. It’s where God’s prophet says:

Israel’s watchmen are blind, they all lack knowledge;
they are all mute dogs, they cannot bark.
(Isaiah 56:10)

And then in the very next chapter we read:

Whom are you mocking? At whom do you sneer and stick out your tongue?
Are you not a brood of rebels, the offspring of liars?
You burn with lust among the oaks and under every spreading tree;
you sacrifice your children in the ravines and under the overhanging rocks.
(Isaiah 57:4-5)

The problem with the watchmen of Israel is that they were silent. They were like dogs who refused to bark. What were the kind of things they should have been making a noise about? Well, the perennial pagan problem involved with the idolatry surrounding lust and child sacrifice. It’s that their children were being routinely and ritualistically slaughtered.

But, once again, the problem with the watchmen of Israel is that they were silent. For one reason or another, they refused to speak. Maybe it’s because they didn’t want to be hated (see John 15:18-20). Maybe it’s because they didn’t want to cause further division (see Matthew 10:34-39). Or maybe it’s because they just didn’t want to suffer (see 2 Timothy 3:12). Whatever their reason was, it’s good to remember the warning of Jesus in Luke 6:26:

Woe to you when all men speak well of you,
for that is how their fathers treated the false prophets.

Think of Trump what you will. But history will record that when others remained silent, one US President had the courage to still bark.
